Buying locally injects significantly more money back into the direct community compared to purchasing from national chains or online retailers. For every $100 spent at a local business, approximately $68 stays within the community, whereas only about $43 remains when shopping at a national chain. This difference is due to local businesses being more likely to hire local workers, source local goods, and reinvest profits within the community.
