I have been trying to find the words to describe how incredible this day was and I’m coming up empty. Words cannot describe how amazing this day and weekend were. This was such a special wedding because not only did we get to work with Parker and Lauren, we got to soak it all in as guests.

To the best vendor team, thank you so much. This day would not have been possible without the dream team itself:

IT’S THEIR WEDDING DAY!

I can’t believe it! Parker + Lauren aren’t just clients, they’ve been our dear friends for years.

I’ll never forget the first time I met Lauren after they started dating. Pretty sure our entire friend group knew Park was gonna marry her and now that day is finally here. It’s extra special that I was able to help them with their wedding because they became official at our wedding 🥹

Congratulations to the almost Mr and Mrs Colvin. I’m so excited for the life you’re about to start together. Cheers to a lifetime of happiness. COLV UP, BABY!

When working with your bridal party, the best thing you can do is set clear & reasonable expectations. Things like: projects you want them to help with, events that you want them to attend, & even planning assistance. Being clear & upfront about your expectations will ensure everyone’s on the same page. Here’s a running list of things you can have your bridal party help with. It is not definitive or all-inclusive, so be sure to add your own! (Some of these are MOH specific, so edit as you go!)

-Plan the bridal shower and bachelorette party
-Go wedding dress shopping and help pick out bridesmaids dresses
-Help tackle DIY projects
-Order your dress on time and get the necessary alterations done
-Be there for the bride
-Run any last-minute errands
-Spearhead communication in the bridal party
-Keep track of gifts at the shower
-Get hair and makeup approved by bride for day of
-Serve as legal witness
-Be a point of contact
-Hold rings and bouquet
-Give a toast at the reception
-Keep the bridal suite tidy
-Help bride put on her dress
-Have brides’ phone for social media (or choose someone to be in charge of it)
-Assist the mother of the bride and other special guests
-Keep the energy high and positive
-Smooth out any potential problems and conflicts the day of and leading up
-Ensure the bride gets plenty of water and food the day of the wedding
-Help ensure family is present and paying attention during family photos (same with bridal party during those photos!)
-Round up gifts, cards and decor at the end of the night
-Be on the dance floor with the bride
-Assist in helping bride use the restroom
-Have fun!

Why Wedding Planning Involves Making a Lot of Emotional Decisions ➡️ Read on and save this post for when you need a lil' motivation. Something I wish more couples knew: most decisions will be emotional. ESPECIALLY the major ones.

I think planning a wedding can be so frustrating and difficult because it involves making a lot of emotional (and sometimes illogical) decisions. It also involves--for most couples, at least--letting go of dreams we've had since we were teeny tinies and compromising on things we never though we would.

Do you want to spend $8200 on florals? Yes and no. How about $6000 to get your dream photographer? Also, yes and no.

But what do you do when your gut is saying one thing and logic and tradition are saying another?

Having a wedding planner can help when it comes to making tough decisions. I personally will never tell you what to do; instead I’ll guide you through and educate you so you can make the best decision possible.

And thankfully "tradition" doesn't always exist anymore when it comes to weddings. I always tell my clients that there's no right way to do a wedding. In my opinion, so long as you get married and feed people, you've done a damn good job.

I’ll tell you everything I know, like how much it’s going to cost, what the benefits are, what issues may arise, what the tradeoffs will be, if it’s practical, or if it’s a waste of time and money.

But you still have to make the decision. So trust yourself, trust your vision, and know everything will be absolutely perfect.

Let's talk table design! This is something I personally stressed over for a good long while when planning my wedding and I know some of my brides feel a little overwhelmed with it too. There are a few major components to your tables:
-shape, i.e. round or rectangle. I always recommend round over farm tables!
-size. Sixty inch rounds can fit 6-8 people, while 72" rounds can fit 8-10, though you do lose 1-2 people each size if you add chargers or placemats. Also, things can get a little crowded with the 60" rounds.
-tablecloths
-centerpieces
-chargers or placemats
-dinner plates. Not always applicable, like if you're having a buffet.
-silverware
-napkins
-water glass
-wine glass
-champagne glass. Again, not always applicable as per your venue.
-candles
-extra items like favors and menus or thank you cards. We always love to put both at guests' place settings!

Pinterest is going to be your best friend when looking for inspiration and a starting point for table design. After that, create a guide either in Canva or coordinate with your venue and/or wedding planner to put it all into place!

This table features 9 place settings on a 72" round table with beige table cloths, jute chargers, plane white dinner plates, gold silverware, a knotted mustard-colored napkin, menus, matchbooks, a specialty water AND wine glass (one of which we later omitted), a champagne coupe, 5 votive candles, a standard-sized centerpiece and a record charger underneath. Perfect or what?!

If this is something you're stressing over let me help! Hit the link in bio to set up a completely free consultation call today or fill out the form on our website.

Let's talk pupperoos at weddings. Of course having your furbaby at your wedding is the dream, but is it ideal? Check out these tips and things to consider when including a pup at your wedding. Save for later 🐶1. Check with the Venue! If having your dog at your ceremony or even reception has been your dream since day one, definitely check your venue restrictions first and opt for a dog-friendly venue when booking. Some venues only allow pets onsite for the ceremony, so keep that in mind.
2. Assign a pet handler: Most venues won't allow pets on the premises for longer than the ceremony length, which gives you a few considerations. Where will your pet be after & who will transport them to and from the venue? There are some wedding planners and other companies that offer this sort of service, so be sure to check it out if a family member, bridesmaid or friend is unable help with your four-legged love.
3. Know Your Pet: Consider your pet's temperament and personality. Would it absolutely stress them out or would they enjoy it? Consider having your pet present for engagement photos or another pre-wedding photo-op instead to help keep it calm & casual.
4. Pet-Friendly Vendors: Confirm that your photographer, videographer, wedding planner (we're 100% pet friendly!) and other important vendors are comfortable working with animals.
5. Comfort Zones: If possible, set up a designated space for your pet to relax during the festivities--away from the loud music & with plenty of toys to destroy.
6. Pre-Wedding Familiarization: Visit the venue with your pet before the wedding day so they can become familiar with the surroundings--but again, confirm with your venue!
7. Post-Wedding Accommodations: Set up a space either onsite or in a pet-friendly hotel room after their grand entrance to keep them safe and happy. Ensure you have ample water, chewy toys & food to keep them occupied, too!

Bonus ways to save $$$ 👇🏼-limit your guest count and omit plus ones
-opt for a buffet versus a plated meal
-skip the champagne toast (unless it's included)
-have a cutting cake and give sheet cake to the caterer for guests (Costco cake is fire and you can't tell us otherwise!)
-skip the open bar and do beer and wine only or feature two signature cocktails
-repurpose ceremony florals (including bridesmaids bouquets) and do not add anything to your ceremony space that you can't use during reception
-skip the favors, programs and menus
