Victorian Fancies & Tea Society Join us for etiquette classes, girls' day camps, and enchanting tea parties that celebrate the timeless traditions of Queen Victoria's reign.

For your special events, occasions or celebrations, we cater events for twelve to two hundred. Lady Margaret's business of bringing glamour, grace and the elegance of the Victorian Era to life began with simple tea parties at home with friends. The idea of enjoying a cup of tea and a cucumber sandwich on a warm sunny afternoon with other women was an experience that could be shared with many. Insp

ired by her love of a different time, Lady Margaret began to research traditions of etiquette and tea during the time of Queen Victoria's reign. Discovering a rich history of tea and combining this knowledge with a deep love of fine Victorian dress made Lady Margaret realize that a true tea party is never complete unless presented by a proper Victorian Lady. Lady Margaret's dream is to gather friends to share the traditions of a bygone era and yet returning.

'Polly Put the Kettle On' is an old English nursery rhyme and mentioned in Charles Dickens' Barnaby Rudge (1841), which is the first record of the lyrics in the modern form.

In mid-eighteenth century the name "Sukey" was equivalent to "Susan" and Polly was the pet name of Mary.

A pet name is used instead of someone's actual first name and to express fondness or familiarity.
