VICTORIAN GIRLS DAY CAMP

🫖💐🧵🎨🫖🎀👒🪡🧶🥧🫖🥘🎀🫖💐

Our exciting day camp will give young ladies, ages 6-14, a look into the everyday life of a girl in the late 1800's and early 1900's. The girls will participate in activities that will give them a feeling of living in the days of old. They will learn pastimes and amusements from long ago, in addition to cooking, baking, needlepoint, calligraphy, fan language, watercolors, The Art of Afternoon Tea, and more! We will begin each morning with Etiquette lessons at Lady Margaret's School of Etiquette.

A very memorable experience awaits them❣️

Checking for length.
This 1921 picture shows a Chicago policewoman checking for a violation of the bathing-suit-length laws. Back then, your suit could not be more than six inches above the knee! Of course, these rules only applied to women: This lasted until 1946, when a French mechanical engineer named Louis Reard invented the bikini, although it didn't catch on until the 1960s.

The Romance Of The Fan~~
Victorians had an unspoken language of signals that encouraged the most romantic communication between men and women without so much as a word being spoken. There is a variety of motion to be made use of in the flutter of the fan. It can be angry, modest, confused or merry.
Women were armed with fans as men were with swords, and sometimes did more executions with them!!!
This is one of my Victorian Fancies presentations that I offer when I cater my tea parties and it is a fun presentation ❣❣❣

I take great pleasure in catering children's tea parties❣ We learn manners, wear hats, jewelry, gloves and feather boas from Lady Margaret's dress up box, and sip tea while chatting with one another. They always love a story, and Miss Spider's Tea Party is a favorite. The children are delighted with their little finger sandwiches, sweet treats, fresh fruit, and the children's special fruity herbal tea! I have discovered in the last couple of years that even children love the creamy cucumber dill sandwiches, so that is a must now at the children's tea table💞💖💝💕
