Probably one of the most requested meals from clients visiting the area looking for Lowcountry fare.Lowcountry Boil, Frogmore Stew, Beaufort Boil… whatever name you call it you’ll agree it’s a Lowcountry staple. Grab the Old Bay, shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes. Some butter sauce or cocktail and dig in. Seafood boils in the Lowcountry can be traced back to Gullah-Geechee culture. The Gullah -Geechee people kept their culinary traditions alive during and after slavery, including making one-pot meals using readily available seafood and vegetables to serve large gatherings of people, especially during times of celebration.The modern version of the Lowcountry Boil is attributed to Richard Gay of Gay Seafood, a national guardsmen who had to cook for over 100 fellow soldiers .
