Oh, Do Tell.
I have begun a deep dive into peonies. Especially ones that have more of a quirkiness to them. This peony "Do Tell" was described as scoop of raspberry ripple ice cream in a bowl of faded pink petals. I fell in love with it's fireworks like center and giant guard petals with a sturdy red stem. Pure fun!

Here's to a new week!
This week I'm trying to focus on the future and making sure I'm setting up a good foundation to move forward. So here's to days at the computer instead of days at the workbench. It's all okay tho, just like a garden needs a little prep before it can grow so too is a business. I'll be starting at this beauty to get me through.

I took on the Sweet Pea this week, and wow are they so much fun! It was so much fun to play with color and my new copic markers. In my story I have a this or that game to play with all the colors! I would love to hear which color is your favorite!

I took a quick break from paper flowers this week to make a bouquet for and for their 3rd anniversary! It was a pleasure to play with real blooms and a couple of these might make it into paper ;)

Bearded Iris are one of my favorite flowers. I love their drama, their frilly petals and tantalizing colors, but their season is always so short! I had to create some in paper to relish in their glory all year long!
I had fun with this arrangement because I got to work without worry, as a real iris petal is so fragile. I hand tinted the ruscus to have a little fun with color, and couldn't resist that begonia leaf!

✨Hello gorgeous! ✨
I had so much fun in my studio this week, so I had to make an arrangement with all of the fun things I've made. I paired paper lilies and tulips with dried leucadendron, eucalyptus and bunny tails. To create this tropical arrangement. What do you think? What are your favorite stems to go with lilies?

Who loves lilies?
I'll be the first to admit that I don't love them that much. They are toxic to cats and their little pollen pods always get everywhere, oh and their petals bruise so easily. All that said, I do love me a Paper Lily now!
As I made these this week I got to really enjoy their beauty and character. They're pretty sassy with all their curls and waves on their petals, so it was definitely a challenge learning how to sculpt them, but wow, was it fun! Swipe to see them before I sculpted them!

These past few weeks I have gotten back into working with fresh flowers, (ty Valentine's day) I love working with fresh blooms and they've been so helpful in pulling inspiration for paper flowers. These lilies are going to be making some guest spots on the feed in the next few days! I'm so excited to show you all!

Have you ever put the last stem into an arrangement and take that last deep breath and step back and look, and you're so incredibly proud of yourself? That was me with this arrangement. I started the week with just an idea of how to make these tulips and I sat down and did it! I made 6 different versions before I nailed it. This bouquet feels like a culmination of my work up until this point. I've been dreaming about combining my love for fresh and preserved product with handmade paper blooms and I am so blown away by the results, and I hope you are too!

I saved the best for last for the most special person in my life, my Mom. It's been a whirlwind of a week, juggling paper flower orders with real flower shenanigans over mother's day has been exhausting but sooo rewarding.
