We spent the day feeding Chris Tomlin and his band and crew (and our choir buddies), and are sending to-go boxes on the road with him at their request. They are happy and full. 😀

I have a LOT of now-adult children. Working full-time, often multiple jobs, and cooking all meals from scratch was necessary and time-consuming, so I rarely got the kids into the kitchen to teach them to cook, but most of them grew up to be excellent cooks nevertheless because they love good food. My youngest asked me to teach her recently, so this is the first installment of a series I'm calling, "In the Kitchen with Abbie". This weekend we made Benihana fried rice, potato mochi, pork tonkatsu, and sesame bok choi. It was all delicious, but just LOOK at that mise en place! 😍

My favorite post-event(s) activity is packing up leftovers to bless our neighbors, family and friends. These are going to 7 different families today.

All those delicious Christmas cookies really took a toll. We're tuning up our health this month with an anti-inflammatory diet. Tuna with homemade mayo, celery and radish sprouts, tricolor radishes, and air-fried zucchini with homemade cashew cream and zoug. This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but to us, it is delicious and nutritious!

No food photos, but we had the most amazing weekend catering for (and singing with) the legendary Chris Tomlin and Cherry Hills Community Church Choir. Those 18 hour work days pay off with happy, well-fed musicians. Only one more big event for 2022, and then we get two weeks off!

We finished the busiest week of the year strong with a gorgeous holiday party in a lovely private home. I didn't get photos of the Spanish-themed dinner - chicken with oranges and olives, chimichuri flank steak, garlic roasted green beans, chorizo-stuffed mushrooms, saffron rice, salad with asparagus, artichokes and sundried tomatoes- but here are a few photos of charcuterie featuring Spanish meats and cheeses and desserts. Bonus "after" photo. 🙂

We had a great time yesterday, catering lunch and dinner for our favorite Irish band, Rend Collective and the INCREDIBLE Nigerian musician, Blessing Offor! They were all lovely guys and enjoyed pretty simple things. The Irishmen requested American Thanksgiving, and while I forgot to take pictures, they loved it all, especially Jason's Grand Marnier cranberry sauce. (PS- Meet Mollie, new to the Olive Leaf team, but not new to me. She's my eldest daughter and an absolute treat who knows how to bustle and work hard, even 7 months pregnant!)

We have officially entered our busy season! Last night we delivered 1200 scratch-made cookies, breads, and candies to a huge event.
1 of the trays was gluten-free and dairy-free. We served gf/df gingerbread muffins with maple icing, gf/df chocolate peppermint truffles, gf/df cinnamon bread, gf/df coconut bars, gf/df peppermint meringues, gf/df cardamom orange shortbread, gf/df snickerdoodles, cranberry pinwheels, ginger cream sandwich cookies, brown sugar chocolate chip banana bread, gf apple cider caramels, espresso chocolate chip sables, peppermint chocolate bars, pumpkin pie truffles, gf fudge topped with applewood smoked sea salt and lemon rosemary shortbread cookies. The sugared cranberries are pretty, but they're also delicious!

We have been busybusy over here, catering breakfast, lunch and dinner for the Jeremy Camp band and crew! It delights me to hear these travelers enjoy "their favorite meal on tour". While I'm really more of a savory cook, our treats are just so much more photogenic. 😊

Fall has finally brought cooler weather here in Colorado, calling for homemade roasted tomato basil soup. Grilled cheese on Bavarian brown bread is perfect for dipping. Now back to the baking and prepping for upcoming events!

I know there are a LOT of pumpkin spice lovers out there, but these fall bakes with maple, pecan, apple and chocolate orange are also warm and toastie delicious!
