My heart is racing as I type this, but I need to share with my previous clients, vendor friends, and floral fanatics that Fire Poppy is closed for monetary business. I know it sounds so odd, but in simpler terms, I am no longer servicing events nor performing floral design as a business. My life drastically shifted in the last year, and I have learned to adjust to the changes in the wind, such as a true bloom does.
Professionally, I am now working in property management and do see myself thriving in this industry. Unfortunately, with the prices of blooms, hours of blood, sweat, and tears, I feel at a loss with how to continue my business in this age. I see Fire Poppy returning in the future, but for now, I will be playing with flowers in my free time with my garden blooms. I envision Fire Poppy becoming a volunteer venture, and I'm excited at the prospect of providing the unique joy of a flower arrangement to people who need the smiles.
It has truly been a fu***ng amazing 3 years playing with blooms. Technically 4, but I haven't worked a wedding in 2024 so I'm not counting this year. But really, to have been a part of so many peoples weddings, cry tears with brides, share grievances with fellow vendors, think on the fly to solve a problem, I look back on these last few years with so much gratefulness in my heart. I took a major risk in the height of a pandemic, and I did it, even if it no longer remains.
To all of my clients who trusted me to deliver their vision, thank you. To the event coordinators, florists, photographers and fellow wedding vendors, thank you for accepting me into the most warm environment. I already miss all of you.
I will keep my IG page and will consider it more of a passion project moving forward. Here's to good smells, fluffy blooms, and a bright future. Cheers to all of you 💐
