🥒 Pickling Season is Here!
July’s produce is perfect for pickling — cucumbers, red onions, carrots, radishes, green beans, even summer fruits like cherries or watermelon rind. When your summer bounty runeth over, pickle it!
Our Favorite Quick Pickles (Refrigerator Style):
1. Start with a clean jar — sterilized and dry, to keep your pickles fresh and crisp
2. Slice your veggies (thin for onions, spears or coins for cukes)
3. Bring a mix of vinegar, water, salt & sugar to a simmer
4. Add whole spices: peppercorns, mustard seed, chili flake, garlic, bay leaf
5. Pour over veggies, cool on the counter, refrigerate — enjoy in hours, even better in days.
6. Put them on EVERYTHING!
At Nourish Culinary, our chefs use house-pickled ingredients to brighten and balance all kinds of meals:
🥗 Pickled onions in summer grain bowls
🥪 Pickled cukes or carrots on sandwiches and sliders
🍖 Pickled radish with slow-roasted pork
🧀 Quick-pickled cherries or grapes on a cheese board
🥢 Pickled vegetables with sushi or poke-style bowls
Pickles aren’t just a garnish — they’re a chef’s tool for acidity, crunch, and contrast.
