Youngster stopped by to grab a bouquet; geared up for impending rain. Note the giant shower cap > backpack cover! The flowers wouldn’t have minded the rain, but I’m glad he made it to his destination before the skies opened up. ⚡️☔️💨

So many Daisies! This type, English Daisy, was seen on a recent camping trip at Cranberry Lake in the Adirondacks. It blooms much earlier than the naturalized wildflower 'Oxeye' and the cut-flower perennial 'Shasta'. 'Montauk' is yet another type that has naturalized (originally from Japan) along the sandy, salty coastal shorelines of Long Island, NY. Fun Facts: English Daisy flowers close at night and reopen in the morning, and are edible. They're used to make 'daisy chains' & floral crowns due to their flexible stems.
