Mr. Makishi Shimoyama & Mrs. Katherine Rodriguez had an elegant ceremony on New Year Day 2023 at Forest Home Cemetery & Arboretum in Milwaukee, WI.
They both agreed that there was nothing about their wedding that they would change. Everything about the day was perfect and breathtaking! Makishi & Katherine’s best memory from their ceremony was how beautiful & intimate. They were initially worried about the weather, but the snow dried up & with the love and support of their family, the couple was truly able to embrace the beauty of nature.
When asked what marriage has taught them thus far, Katherine & Makishi agreed that it has taught them that while they are strong individuals, together they are a team constantly learning, growing and thriving! The couple stated that they agreed to continue to embrace the power of communication and mutual respect which strengthens their bond everyday.
I asked the couple if they had any advice for any newlywed couples and they both gave some very inspirational statements. Makishi's advice was to talk openly and honestly, making sure everyone is on the same page. Truly listen to your partner and remember that at the end of the day, you are both on the same team. Katherine stated that to keep an open mind to each other's decision making process. Listening to your partner can help you find common ground or even better solutions.

Sha’Boris & Chase Hiler had an elegant outdoor ceremony at RAM’s Charles A. Wustum Museum of Fine Arts in Racine, Wisconsin on August 26, 2023.

While reflecting on their big day they mentioned that although the day was amazing there were a few aspects that they wished they would have changed. Mostly minor things like checking the wedding party to make sure everything fit everyone perfectly, ensuring that tissues were readily available during the ceremony and even during a better quality check on vendors and not just selecting someone because they are popular.

On the other hand, the not so perfect moments of the wedding were overshadowed by moments that they will remember for a lifetime. For Chase it was seeing Sha’Boris come down the aisle. And for Sha’Boris it was at the very end of the reception. The DJ was about to leave and at that moment that all let loose! Laughing, dancing, living in the moment and purely enjoying each other's company without any pressure.

With almost 2 years of marriage under their belt, they were asked what marriage has taught them so far. Their answers were simple, yet so powerful.
Sha’Boris: “My wife goes first, no matter what. I’m sure whatever means something to me- means just as much to her. I want to try, all the time.”
Chase: “Patience and motivation…. understanding.”

Their advice for newly married or engaged couples was to simply have patience because in the end, “You are going to get through it”!

Patrick & Skye wed on August 16, 2020 near the Lighthouse in Wind Point, WI.
They both agreed that their big day was perfect & they wouldn’t change anything!
Their best memory from their ceremony would have to be having the perfect weather and location for a beach wedding.
Boh Syke & Patrick stated that marriage has taught them patience & the true meaning of what it’s like to love another person.
Their advice to any newlywed couple would be to stay faithful, stay committed and learn to always change for the better! Let us all wish them many more years of life, love and happiness.

Miranda & Lemmie had an elegant ceremony at the Lewis Station Winery in Lake Mills, WI on August 21, 2020. The only thing they regret about their big day is not having a DJ and having food catered. Nonetheless, they both agreed that the highlight of the night was seeing both of their families meet for the first time and just seeing everyone come together to celebrate their union.
In the past 4 and a half years Lemmie and Miranda stated that marriage has taught them patience and understanding each other. They both take the time remembering small gestures and the love that they have for each other.
Their advice for engaged or newlywed couples would be to always remember to come back to each other when in a disagreement and communication is key! And most importantly, you love and respect one another over everything else.

Antonio & Menickalay Smith wed on August 20, 2023 at the Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corner, WI.
They both agreed that there is nothing about their wedding that they would change! The Smith’s best memory from their big day was Menickalaly walking down the aisle and seeing Antonio become emotional. Mr. & Mrs. Smith also appreciated seeing their dearest friends and family in the crowd with big smiles on their faces
Both Menicaklay and Antonio stated that marriage has taught them to be considerate to each other which is one of the greatest acts of love.
Their advice to the newlyweds out there would be to always make time for each other even when life gets busy. Quality time and date nights are so important.

Larita and Ronisha Lawson had a beautiful fall ceremony on October 23, 2022 at the Aud Mar Banquet hall in Muskego, WI. Their favorite memory from their big day was doing all of the decorations and watching everything that they planned for over a year come together.
The only regret they have from their ceremony was that all of their family, friends and loved ones couldn’t be there to celebrate with them. In this short year of marriage they stated that it has taught them that whatever they thought it was going to be; “it ain’t that”! Although they admit they were not expecting a fairytale because they had already been together 6 years at that point. However, they came to the realization that they both had expectations that looked different. But their love and commitment to their union outweighed their personal expectations and they both put in time everyday to work that love into practical things so that nothing will ever divide them! Let’s wish them both many more years of life, love and happiness!!!

CC for our reaction to the bride!!!

Dylan & Bryn Brouwers had a beautiful farmhouse ceremony on October 17, 2021 at Lilac Acres in Waukesha. The only thing the couple would change about the day would be the fact they weren't able to enjoy some of their favorite appetizers because they were so busy taking wedding photos and just overall enjoying wedding bliss! However, the best part of the ceremony had to be Bryn walking down the aisle! She had not only Dylan, but everyone (including me) in tears. When asked about what marriage has taught them so far, they both agreed that being married to your soulmate and being able to spend time with them everyday is an underrated blessing! The advice they would give to any engaged/ newly wed couple is to do what you can to make it work and communicate. They both know that they are different people and come from different walks of life, but everyday they do what they can to make their relationship work and they communicate!
Please stop what you're doing and wish Dylan & Bryn Brouwers a very Happy 2nd Wedding Anniversary.

Nicholas and Amanda Vorderbruggen wed on October 10th of 2020 at the Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. They both agreed that there isn't a single thing that they would change about their big day. They felt lucky they had good weather in the middle of October and everyone had a great time especially since it was the first time many of them got together since Covid-19 began. It was their fondest memory of the entire wedding, looking around and seeing their families getting to know each other, sitting together, eating together, etc. It was very special.
When asked what marriage has taught them they both agreed this union has taught them that life moves incredibly fast and having someone by your side experiencing it with you is the greatest gift! Their advice for newly married or engaged couples would be to never stop dating each other. have fun date nights, get dressed up, and learn new things about each other.

Antoinette & Bridgette wed on July 16, 2022 at the Fountain Hall in Racine, WI.
One thing they would change about their big day was not having all of their family and loved ones in attendance. On the other hand, their best memory from their wedding would be incorporating their children in the ceremony by allowing them to es**rt Antoinette down the aisle and give her away to Bridgette.
They both agreed that so far marriage has taught them that communication is the best way to come to an agreement. They also expressed that in these two years they learned how to be a family, raise a family and go hard for your family.
Antoinette & Bridgette’s advice for newlyweds would be:
-To make sure you communicate with each other and never leave your spouse out of anything & to have each other's back through thick and thin.
-Things will get hard but you have to be strong & hold on so you both can come out of it.
-Don’t tit for tat or blame each other without checking first to save arguments.
-Let each other breathe so you can think before you react.
