A shoutout to the May recipient of our Axe of Kindness Initiative: local EMS workers. These Emergency Medical Services workers take care of people in times of dire need, and they do so with cool heads, skillful hands, and caring hearts. We’re blessed to have them just a phone call away!

Enjoyed our time with the Specialty Risk Insurance Team yesterday (we almost had to file a claim for excessive amounts of laughter and bullseyes). If they can help an axe-throwing company like us get insured, I’m sure they could help you too!

The April award for our Axe Of Kindness Initiative goes to Lafayette House in Joplin! The mission of Lafayette House is to be a safe sanctuary, offering compassionate and empowering services to heal the effects of domestic violence, sexual assault, and substance use disorders.

We are grateful for the work that they do to provide professional, compassionate, and trauma-informed services for adults, children, and families in our community. To find out more about Lafayette House and the work they do, you can go to lafayettehouse.org.

We really enjoyed getting to celebrate with some of their staff and volunteers at their annual volunteer appreciation event last night. Thank you so much for having us out to your property to throw some axes!

A huge shoutout to the winners of our first Axe of Kindness initiative: Watered Gardens Ministries!

Watered Gardens exists “to see the Church boldly engage with the homeless and poor relationally, responsibly, and compassionately,” and we are very appreciative of the work they do in our community. From providing food, clothing, and a place to sleep, to running programs designed to break the cycle of dependency through work, financial planning, and healthy relationships, the team at Watered Gardens works hard to ensure that people in our community understand their true worth.

We loved getting to spend some time with the Worthshop and Outreach Center teams from Watered Gardens this weekend. Thank you for letting us throw some axes with you!
