Yesterday, Amanda & Johnny said “I Do” at the most beautiful barn venue in the area - . I’ve seen my fair share of wedding barns, and this one is my absolute favorite!! 😍 It’s all things rustic, eclectic, high style, and the staff is ON-POINT. We are hoping to be back many times more in the coming wedding season!

But also, let’s talk about the linens… knocks it out of the park EVERY TIME with their stunning collection. This true, rustic, shabby chic, barn was transformed into elegance with their ivory Shantung tablecloths and gold velvet napkins. That’s right… velvet. 😍 Complete perfection.

Let’s do it all over again!

There couldn't have been a better person to photograph this style shoot than the incredible ! I am absolutely in love with the interesting angles and lighting, and the naturalistic nature of her editing. Photography styles are so subjective - who you pick as your wedding photographer is crucial to carrying out your desired theme and style. For me, I love photography that is true to real life, colors, and textures. You nailed it Chelsea!

Each floral piece was crafted with carnations as the focal flower, in warm and moody shades of blush, burgundy, mauve, and n**e. Anytime anyone tells me they don't like carnations, I tell them they just haven't met the right one. 🥰

Yesterday’s wedding was pretty darn special. We had the honor, and privilege, to assist our dear friend, and fellow designer, Sharon Lea on the design and execution of floral and decor for her youngest daughter’s wedding day. 🥰 Classic white wedding at The Riviera Ballroom, in Lake Geneva. A mid-century modern backdrop, with brass and gold finishes, and cool, green, brick walls. Sounds weird, but it was gorgeous! 😍 Congratulations Allyson & Dylan! Hi, I’m Andrea!

Welcome to my business page. I’m the owner and lead floral designer with Larkspur & Leo. My florist career began in January 2018, when my family took over Laura’s Flower Shoppe in Lake Villa, IL, which I both operated and designed for. I am a self-taught floral designer, lucky enough to have had support and guidance by other, AIFD-certified, and hugely talented, floral designers in my area. Although I’m a very good copy-cat, and can conform to just about any floral design, the style I am most drawn to may be considered garden-inspired, a little bit bohemian, sometimes rustic, yet clean and focused. Flowers were never truly a passion of mine... to tell you the truth, I knew nothing about flowers before 2018! What I love about floristry, floral design, and weddings/events mostly has to do with the people involved. I love the creative ideas brides come up with for their wedding; I am moved by the love and compassion people have for their loved ones when they pass; and it’s always a challenge coming up with new ways to manipulate flowers to create the perfect piece for a customer. All of this makes for fun, exciting, stressful (in a good way... mostly), and completely gratifying work. I hope you like my creations, and I hope for the opportunity to work with you!
