Designing Evy’s bridal bouquet was a florist’s dream come true. The bright & bold color palette lent itself well to an assortment of local blooms, such as poppies, and more traditional stems like roses. Sweet peas and amaranth added texture and whimsy for an end result perfectly suited to the bride’s bubbly personality 💕

To kick off the new year, we want to introduce the newest addition to the ESE team - Shelby!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Shelby discovered her love of events while studying Psychology at UNO. After planning Homecoming and other events for the university, she was prompted by an advisor to pursue a career in events. She's been working in the industry ever since. Over the past 11+ years she's gained experience in trade shows, corporate events, conferences, catering and venue management (we like to joke that there isn't a job she hasn't had). But wedding planning is by far her favorite aspect of the industry and she can't imagine doing anything else.

Shelby is an integral part of the design process, creating comprehensive design plans that touch on details big & small. She is passionate about guest experience and thinks through aspects of each wedding with attendees in mind. She has a knack for organization and has spent the last year at ESE implementing new systems to aid in planning and client experience.

When she's not in the office, Shelby loves going on outings with her 2 kids and reading. She also teaches barre classes, loves to cook, and is really competitive when it comes fantasy football.

More all-white wedding inspo as we gear up for the first snowfall of 2024 ❄️

Megan & Zach's vibe was sleek, modern, and minimalist. The bride's vision for a wedding in the round called for unique all-white floral selections. We opted for an assortment of seasonal flowers and grasses grouped by type to create the desired contemporary look. White gladiolas, gomphrena, and zebra grass took center stage alongside sweet geranium, white rudbeckia, and mums.

Only one more day until we ring in the New Year! For the first time in a couple years, we don't have a NYE wedding. Instead we'll be celebrating the close of a great year with family and friends while also looking ahead to an exciting 2024 wedding season.

Today is the Winter Solstice, a.k.a. the shortest day of the year. What better way to prepare for a long night than with 900 candles?

When bride Megan came to us with her vision for a modern, candle-lit reception at the Holland Performing Arts Center in Downtown Omaha, we knew we'd need to go overboard on candles for maximum effect. Two days and 900 candles later, the result was better than any of us imagined.

Was anyone else hoping for a White Christmas? 🙋🏼‍♀️ While it looks like we aren't going to get one here in Omaha, the all-white floral from Libby & Nathaniel's ceremony is equally as magical as a snow-covered landscape.

The couple’s June reception was full of color, but for the ceremony we opted for all-white, garden-inspired floral. The bouquets consisted of white peonies, white astilbe, flowering honeysuckle, white campanula, olive branch, and white spray & garden roses. These blooms paired perfectly with the bridesmaids dresses in a classic navy hue.

This simple way of adding floral to wedding tablescapes creates a big impact. Perfect for modern aesthetics or couples who want minimal greenery, we love intermixing bud vases with bright, locally-sourced floral down a table. Add pillar and votive candles and you've got a gorgeous centerpiece.

Andrea + Keith's vibe was bright and bold. The patterned head table linen spoke volumes, so we kept the floral simple with bud vases. Each vase held one type of bloom in various shades of ruby, peach, orange, and white. We especially loved the way scabiosa blooms brought a touch of whimsy to the tablescape.

We expect to see more tablescapes like this one in 2024. Be on the lookout for colored glass, a higher concentration of blooms, and colorful candles to be added to the mix for the upcoming wedding season.

Claire + Keegan's wedding day was full of personal touches. Every detail told the story of their relationship.

The layered place setting alone was the perfect reflection of the bride & groom. It included hand-made bookmarks that doubled as es**rt cards - a nod to their love of reading. The couple also thanked their guests with a small note. Along with a dinner menu, these pieces sat atop a custom napkin printed with a topographical map of their first date location.

We're excited to take a few days off to celebrate Thanksgiving with our families before we turn our full attention to the 2024 wedding season.

Our team has quite a bit to be thankful for this year. Seventeen weddings + a couple corporate events pushed us in the best way possible. We're beyond grateful for the incredible clients who entrust the planning, design, and production of their celebrations to us.

Huge shout out to our day-of team members and floral assistants who step in during wedding week to pull everything together. And we can't forget to thank our families. We added hints of brown, black, and burgundy to bring warmth and depth to Alex and Madison’s mostly-white design. Tulle linens added a dramatic touch to the minimalist place setting.

A majority of the blooms were locally sourced from , which gave the neutral palette personality and differentiated the mostly-white floral from traditional all-white centerpieces. We love the movement that cosmos and chamomile lent to these compote arrangments.

That's a wrap! Our 2023 wedding season has officially come to an end 🍾 We finished a full year of celebrations with Ingrid + Ethan's garden-inspired day last weekend (sneak peeks coming soon!).

Now we're gearing up for the 2024 wedding season. Over the next few months we'll be busy assembling vendor teams and creating custom designs for our couples in preparation for the new year. Our team is so excited about the upcoming season and all the couples we have the pleasure of working with. You can expect to see everything from large, garden-inspired gatherings to intimate weddings with hand-made details. Stay tuned for previews of what's to come!

Mia + Alex's wedding was the perfect October celebration! The couple let their personality shine through every aspect of the wedding day. From their attire (the bride wore her mom’s wedding dress) to the music festival-inspired signature drink, this wedding was a representation of the couple in all the best ways.

They leaned into fall, with rich red and pink hues dominating the design. Their cool, moody style fit perfectly with the venue's eerie fall exhibit.

For Libby + Nathaniel's es**rt display, we opted for a simple table filled with place cards. We kept the cards simple, carrying the script font from their stationery over in the guest names. A blue floral linen adorned the table, with bright pink and orange floral running the length of the table. This simple, yet impactful design element was one of our favorites from this couple's country club celebration.

The fall wedding season is our favorite for its warm tones, cooler weather (perfect for outdoor ceremonies), and lush fabrics (like the velvet of these bridesmaids dresses).

One piece of advice we give our couples is this - don't shy away from color! We love using a variety of hues to accentuate a season, venue, or vibe. A unique color palette is also the perfect way to personalize your wedding and opens up your options for floral, linens, and other decor.

When Libby told us she wanted preppy and colorful, we dove in head first! The arrangements inside the cocktail hour & dancing tent were bright and playful. Large romantic blooms paired well with smaller spray roses and delicate ranunculus. We added additional pops of color in the lounge furniture. Bold, blue patterned linens perfectly complimented the warm orange and pink floral.

Today we want to introduce you to another member of our team, Ellie McDonnell (yes, there are two people with the same name on our team ☺️). Ellie came on board after Elle’s brother introduced the two of them, and the rest is history.

Before entering the world of wedding planning, Ellie tried her hand at substitute teaching, coaching, and nannying. She even worked as a parking ticket writer at the University of Nebraska Kearney, or as she puts it “the most hated person on campus.” Thankfully, she discovered her passion for weddings and now considers the ESE team her home.

Ellie specializes in event logistics, making sure all our weddings are executed flawlessly. She’s also discovered a passion for floral design and serves a key role in executing floral arrangements for our clients. Her ability to problem solve on the fly is priceless, as is her ability to make us laugh. She is a free-spirit whose sense of calm and ease translates to a stress-free experience for couples and their families. We firmly believe ESE wouldn’t be where it is today without her!

When she’s not busy managing day-of stationery or updating timelines, you might find Ellie playing volleyball, rollerblading, or testing out a new recipe. On wedding-free weekends, she enjoys traveling with family and friends.

Would you wear something other than white on your wedding day?!

Rachel brought all the chic sourcing the fabric to create her custom lavender and vintage inspired wedding dress. Rachel & Brandon had many nontraditional moments which included a marching band to kick things off, huge vintage inspired dessert bar & the band playing from start to finish. The party never stopped! We loved helping architect their day to suit their personal style!
