yesterday’s weather here in #12572 was amazing; sunny and warm with the scent of spring. Tonight the snow is supposed to fly and pile high which is ok because it’s soon to melt. I always scatter my poppy seeds on top of the snow and somehow they just melt in and bloom as planned🎶🎶🎶

32 days until spring…my dear friend reminded me last week that if I count the days I’ll maintain my sanity. It hasn’t even been a hard winter but it’s been a tough few years for everyone and my hands need to be in the dirt! Sugar snap peas need to go in the ground in 29 days…🎶 to my ears

I wonder if flowers move to express feelings?
I like to think so. I’m always talking for them when I walk around the garden, “hi! Good to see you” “yes, great day” oh WOW!! Did you see her?! She’s AMAZING” “oh nooo you look terrible, what’s the matter?” And on and on and on.
How boring life would be without them.

A rare day for us yesterday...we did a wedding, albeit a micro wedding, but a wedding just the same. I can’t believe I’m saying it so I’ll just whisper it...I’ve missed them. Funny how we miss things when we can’t/don’t have them. Thank you B for your beauties

A bit femm for me and certainly not a palette I conjure up for Labor Day however it’s the sunflower that grabbed me this morning...it was peeping out of a wood pile all on its own so I felt compelled to cut it.

I’ve been harvesting seeds for days & days and I’m sitting on my hands because all I want to do is pull all the annuals OUT and create breathing space for me and for the garden as a whole. I won’t do it, not yet. Too many seeds yet to collect. I planted through July 14th this year so I think the garden will continue until our first hard frost. Bulbs will be arriving in early October and I have a lot of planning to do so I can avoid this overgrown chaos next year. I suppose the garden is representative of how I feel...chaotic & kinda all over the place because this s**t show is really difficult to navigate. Having said that I keep going back to what says in Untamed “we can do hard things” ...that’s my daily mantra ...WE CAN DO HARD THINGS

It’s raining today and I forgot how much I like to cut in gray sputtering weather. Just like rocks that are wet, flowers take on a different brilliance and I tend to look at them more closely when they’re glistening with water droplets. I can imagine that we humans are also more vivid in the rain, so...if it’s raining where you are, take a moment and go outside and stand in that rain with your eyes pointing skyward and see if you’re not all the brighter for it💕
