Deal of the Day

Why pay a carpet guy to install carpet when Home Depot will install carpet cheaper? I had a few quotes for carpet for roughly $300-$600 from contractors. The room was 240 square feet. Home Depot gave me the carpet and install for $267 3 days later. Now thats a deal for the day.

If your contractors are holding you up, then fire them. The last thing for you to do is waste time babysitting and paying money for work that is of poor quality or unfinished work. I fired a crew today and have a another crew in route tomorrow. The beautiful thing about Chicago is that there are hungry workers out there willing to put craftsmanship first.

After 5 days of working with a new crew from the Windy City, we were able to completely remodel a home in 5 days. I just want to say to the crew that you did a fine job. However, we have some issues to recover from and adjustments to make so that we can renovate a home in 3 days.

Okay...So I was told that I am going in too many directions with the whole sales, construction, and interior design. I totally get it, but at the same time I feel belittled. Why can HGTV do it but I am supposed to just be a salesman or a construction grunt? When you do a remodel do you really want to talk to eight people about everything? Or would you rather have one guy who knows a crap ton (equivalent to 5 s**t loads) of ideas and specifications for the project at hand?
