🚨Announcement Incoming🚨

To all my friends, colleagues, clients, and supporters:

It is with much joy, growth and contemplation I share this news with you all...💜

The past 4.5 years with Venus Promotions have been quite a ride — there’s been highs, lows and everything in-between! 🙏🏻 It’s been a pleasure to serve you all and be a part of so many amazing moments both for clients and myself.

I started this journey with a dream, a little money and a lot of elbow grease. ✨ So many beautiful things have blossomed because of it. We can never know what we’re fully capable of until we try! Even when it felt like total failure the lessons were there…dusting myself off and picking myself up every time. 🦋

But sometimes change and growth are inescapable. They must occur for other different and wonderful things to take place. 🛣️

So, in the spirit of transformation, I decided to let go of something that was holding me back. A belief that I had to keep this business the same for 5 years. To prove that if I just did that, I’d spite all the naysayers and I’d be better than I ever was. But the truth is, I’ve needed to shed that idea…it’s been limiting and holding me back. And oftentimes, we are our own worst enemy. ⚔️

With that being said, Venus Promotions is rebranding with revised services (including new offers and more!) and name. You’ll recognize a few things still, but it will be different (and NO the purple isn’t going anywhere anytime soon)! 🎉🎉

Thank you for all the love and support you’ve bestowed on me and my purple-obsessed business!

Admittedly I hate hiring. 🤪

It gives me massive overwhelm. Because I’m a doer. I’ll just start doing it instead. And I have some PTSD with some of my past experiences.

That said, I also know my limitations and how thin I’ve stretched myself. So I have to take the plunge. 😅

About me:

-Runs on caffeine
-Manages a small pirate ship of humans with one needing home care and special accommodations
-Extremely driven and known to take on too many projects 😂
-Gets stuff done AND has the backlog to prove it lol
-Will always be direct, but cares about and values your opinion

💜About you:

-Can manage multiple businesses
-Appreciates humor
-Flexible
-Enjoys an on-the-go environment
-Organized
-Self-motivated

That said, I’m looking at contracting a few people:

1) An admin or someone with assistant type knowledge to manage schedules, sort emails and files, help with follow up communication, manage checklists/proposals, list building, ideally some social media knowledge, and working knowledge of CRM processes helpful but not necessary.

2) Cleaning contractors - looking for someone(s) to subcontract on an as-needed basis for cleaning work could work into supervisory position later/more contracts.

If you know of anyone that fits these roles, please send them my way to discuss potential opportunities, hours, compensation, etc.

Small Business Saturday for a small business owner:

Early morning: making gift cettfiicates to print for multiple gifts/businesses.

Later morning: phone meeting with client 💜

Later morning before noon: finish gift certificates, vacuum house, set up client work for Cyber Monday and schedule clients

Noon: out the house for client organization

Afternoon: squeeze in a personal appointment

Later afternoon: try to support small business Saturday friends

Evening: launder work towels and prep for Sunday cleans 😅

I’m gonna be completely honest with you…🫣

I love when other people introduce themselves but I hate when I have to do it. 🙈

That seems pretty crazy for an extrovert with purple hair, right? 🤯

It was mostly because I was afraid of being “too much,” or talking too fast, or being too weird, or not being enough. 😔

The pressure of feeling like I couldn’t be myself was overwhelming…so for many years before this I did my best not to stand out.

But you know what? That was lame. And hurt my soul. 👏🏻

Now…I’m unapologetically extra. So allow me to reintroduce myself…👏🏻 🎤

💜My name is Marisa…pronounced MarEEsa. You’ll quickly become my friend if you say my name properly.

💜People never know what I do. Here’s the long and short of it…I’m like the unsung hero — your purple-haired Obi-Wan or Gandalf-like mentor — creating the business and promotions plans to help you be successful.

💜I’m a recovering perfectionist with ADHD! Some days I do things at lightning speed and other times I need two cups of collagen coffee and whole lot of magic to make it through the day! (Anyone else? 😂)

💜My purple hair isn’t a fad or trend. I’ve had it for four years and plan on keeping it around longer. The decision came after a hysterectomy — I felt like I needed to reinvent myself.

💜I have 3 kids who range in age from 6 to 12 and 18. It’s wonderfully messy and amazing all at the same time. Life wouldn’t be the same without them!

💜Lifting weights and eating peanut butter are life. Sometimes I do them in tandem — although it does tend to be messier! 😂

💜Supporting small business is my passion! I wouldn’t be here without all of you!

Your job is to wade through the disappointment, heartache, malcontent, and negativity and come out better every…damn…time. 🎉

We’re all looking for accolades and pats on the back.

But the truth is, no one is coming to save you but YOURSELF. 👏🏻

Until you embrace, like, love, support and uplift the person you see in the mirror you’ll always be chasing something or someone.

So do me a favor and promise to worry less about how others view you and more about how you view yourself. 👌🏻

If all else fails — put on some 90s hip hop, pull out your best black blazer, tie your hair up and handle your business. I’ll be over here rooting you on. 💜

This is YOUR message.

To stop waiting. To start doing.

Imperfect action creates progress and success more often than sitting still and staying stagnant does.

When I joined Women’s Leadership Conference I wasn’t sure what would happen, but from there I’ve met some amazing women and they even let me have the mic. (Although they may have rethought that once or twice!! 😂)

I spent years being what I thought was weird, loud and misunderstood. 🤪

Turns out, I needed more confidence, grace and patience to allow myself the space to grow into who I am today. 💜

It’s amazing what life experience, failure and fear will teach us if we let it. ☺️

Do yourself a favor though…don’t make excuses.

Do it because you were born to do so much more than what you have envisioned for yourself. 👏🏻

Oh and PS I’ll take the mic 🎤 each and every time the opportunity is handed to me…because my purpose in life is to help others hone in on and expand their potential. 👌🏻🎉

I, oftentimes, feel myself defending the fact that I want to build more and have more income to people when they don’t understand the purpose. 😔

Folks, acquiring wealth isn’t about being greedy or mindlessly taking from people…for me it’s about legacy and sharing with others. 🙏🏻

Let me share a story with you—10 years ago I was a struggling single mom who lost my job at Christmas and I remember feeling defeated and worthless. I was able to get a few gifts but we had no money for groceries. We stood in line at the pantry for food and I remember thinking how grateful I was for that (but utterly embarrassed). Fast forward to even six years ago and I was working multiple jobs to put gifts under the tree and still receiving state benefits. 😣

When you’re poor and broke, sometimes giving can feel like a burden. (And trust me I came from a family that would give their last roll of toilet paper to someone in need.) But when you can give charitably and kindly without even hestitating you’re able to impact in a way that matters more. 👏🏻

You don’t have to start with swinging for the fences…meaning donating your entire life savings to a cause…but instead it can mean tipping more to your servers, making sure to gift your favorite businesses or partners, sending money to make sure that important causes continue to deliver to people in need, etc. 🎄

The most wonderful thing I can say about building more wealth and having more to share is that I have been able to give, gift and share with more people than I ever have before in my entire life.

My heart is warmed with the joy I’ve had bringing happy tears and smiles to many people’s faces. I do not believe that my purpose in life is not to share just as much as I earn. It is my gift and honor to share and help as many people as I possibly can before I exit this earth. 👌🏻

The truth is I used to care what everyone thought about me. I cared so much I let it prevent me from working on my dreams and goals. 🙈

So I did what everyone else did. I fell in line. Never fulfilled and feeling purposeless. 🥺

Then one day I said—ENOUGH. ✋🏻

I’m not one anyone says, thinks, or might read about me.

The future is for me to create. 🦋

I’m not bound by anyone’s limiting beliefs about me. 💪🏻

I’ll tell you one thing though, never bet against people that have figured out their purpose and value.

Dangerous combo. 💥

So go ahead, listen to the rumors. They’re true. 💜

BUT hear me out. 👂

If you’ve never failed at anything, chances are you’ve never created anything truly great either. 😬

Everyone you look up to at some point was wildly unsuccessful. 👏🏻

Seriously. 👌🏻

It’s easier not to be transparent and blame everyone else for things that have gone wrong. 💯

The right thing to do is to accept criticism graciously and be productive moving forward. 🙌🏻

That does not mean you replay your failures over and over in your head until you’re paralyzed. 🛑

It means you regroup and keep going.

Failure is fluid. It’s only without actually learning or implementing action that you truly fail. 💥

Life’s greatest failures can also be our biggest blessings. 🙏🏻

It’s all in your perspective! 🌈
