Here’s why we honor this important day of liberation.

In 1863, during the American Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, which declared more than 3 million slaves living in the Confederate states to be free. More than two years would pass, however, before the news reached African Americans living in Texas. It wasn’t until Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865, that the residents finally learned that slavery had been abolished.

Can you believe that my 5 year old helped me design his birthday? He designed the cake, gave me a vision of how he wanted the backdrop, and even picked out his party paper ware! I had such a fun time with him. It was so great to see his creativity! I’m am so so proud! 🥹 🙃 hehe

My biggest accomplishment is not my career, degrees, it’s not my business, or any “money-driven” success, my biggest accomplishment in this life is being a mother to these beautiful boys. Life didn’t actually start for me until they came along.

Let me introduce you to my accomplishments:

Ethan- my oldest, my day one, my first love. I can’t believe he is going to turn 20 in a couple of weeks! He loves wholeheartedly, sushi, and is going to school for software engineering. He has the biggest heart and is such an amazing big brother! We are so proud of him!

Emmett- my middle, fun loving, very affectionate child. He will be turning 5 in a few weeks and loves Minecraft, Aliens, Robots, and his family. He loves us so much. It’s the sweetest thing. He tells us he loves us at least 10 times a day. We honestly can’t get enough of it. 🥹😍

Cassian Amore- Our baby, our little joy, our little warrior, our youngest. He just turned 8 months, and he has been the biggest blessing to our family. We are so stinking in love, and happy that he’s taking his time growing because we get to enjoy every moment with him a little longer.

Wyatt- some of you may have met Wyatt. He is our “unofficial adoptive son”. We say “unofficial” because he’s over 18 so we couldn’t legally adopt him. But he is OUR SON, he has been a part of our family for about a year now and he has been such a blessing! He is going to school to become an Electrical Engineer. We love you so much Wyatt and so proud of you! You are our family. ❤️ (I can’t wait to share a picture of him one day)

Of course I have to give tribute to my very own mama too. I feel so fortunate that she lives with us. She has sacrificed so much in her lifetime to give me the best life. Now, it’s my turn to take care of her. I can’t wait to spoil her today!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms out there. This is for all of you! The mothers, grandmothers, aunties, mother-figures, mama’s who went through miscarriages, daughters, sons, and husbands who are missing her mama or wife on this day, this one is for you too. Sending all of you my love and light!

She’s gone through so much in her lifetime, survived the Cambodian Genocide, came to the US as a refugee, got her AA degree, defeated cancer, and raised me as a single parent. I am so blessed that I got to capture this moment with her. She also took some with her grandkids too. I’ll share those later. ❤️

Hello friends. In honor of WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY, we would like to introduce to you something we have been working on outside of HPE.

We would like to share our hearts with you through .

As some of you may know, our brother, Michael, and our son, Cassian Amore, have Down Syndrome. They are the fuel that started , a platform that helps families navigate through a Down Syndrome diagnosis and to change the world’s heart and perspective of Down Syndrome.

Our goal is to hold a safe space for honest feelings, comfort, and support, while spreading awareness, the beauty, and the joy of Down Syndrome.

Please follow us on this journey and share the page with in hopes that it will reach sometime that would benefit from this community as well.

We thank you in advance and Happy World Down Syndrome Day! Today, we are going to have a family dance party at home with our brother who loves to dance, and probably stuff our faces with burgers (his favorite meal). ❤️ 🍔

We love personalization. We try to add a personal touch to every event.

Here, we added the honoree’s name, Hideki, to the cake and big at the backdrop to make sure the whole room can see it!

We also doubled up the menu card as a “fun facts” segment on the back, highlighting all of the fun things about Hideki.

We also had to showcase his achievement of getting on the cover of Orthotown Magazine by blowing up the magazine print. It also doubled up as a photo op!

We can’t forget about the kids. We delegated a table just for them and made treat backpacks with their names on it. Inside, we filled it up with fun games, crafts, and toys that kept them happy!

Hideki’s golden birthday was ONE EPIC CELEBRATION! It was non stop fun and entertainment! Our amazing client, reached out to us and asked us to help surprise her husband for his 50th birthday and give him and their guests an experience not just an ordinary party. That’s exactly what we did! From the champagne girl, to the many performers, to the 9 course meal, to the LED Robot… it was a night to remember!

Thank you for putting your trust in us! It was an absolute pleasure. We had so much fun seeing you and Hideki have the time of your lives!

Let me just say that when I saw this video, I was overcame with joy. This particular day started off as an amazing day, and was suppose to be a day enjoyed with family and friends. But it was interrupted with agony and sorrow. I have been going back and forth with sharing this particular day because it brings me back to my grief and it’s so hard to shake it. It feels like a negative reset button to my healing process. But after seeing this video made by the talented @live_past_5, I realized that there’s still so much joy in life. To see my Emmett so happy and so enamored by his party and guests, I realized that he deserves to be celebrated and highlighted too. I mean look at that smile! We gave him the car show birthday of his dreams and the joy in his face means everything to me.
