Dee Teller was an internationally known artist and a beloved teacher. Dee was always looking to the future. She worked with the Arts Initiative Gallery to plan a retrospective of her Sumie works. The retrospective opens from July 6th through August 31st, 2024. A remembrance celebration from 1-3 pm on August 31st will be held at the Arts Initiative Gallery, 224 S Broadway Ave, Albert Lea, MN.

Thank you to the Friends of the Arts Center committee who organized and hosted the 2024 Spring Salad Luncheon. Class Alert ๐ฃ๐จPastel Fish with Beth! SIGN UP NOW for JUNE 22nd!
We will create a fun, colorful tropical fish using soft pastels. Students will learn the basics of using soft pastels while creating a fun drawing that will be perfect to hang on their wall or as a gift for someone special. No experience or drawing skills necessary. All supplies are part of the class fee. Please note, for those sensitive to dust - some pastel dust will be generated as part of this class.

SIGN UP NOW ๐จ Make a Multi Section Coptic bound book
Theresa Harsma will be teaching a one session course on Wednesday, June 12th from 1p.m. - 4p.m. Description as follows:
In one session have a hand bound journal to take home with you to write or draw your summer memories. Students will make book covers painting watercolor paper with plant-based inks. OAC Friends Salad Luncheon May 22
The Friends of the Owatonna Arts will be hosting a salad luncheon on Wednesday, May 22 at the Arts Center. It is a benefit for the OAC. Advance tickets are available at the Arts Center for $20 or online at oacarts.org for $21. Tickets need to be secured in advance. There will be no sales at the door. Deadline for purchase is May 16.
A variety of spring salads, bread, and a sweet treat
will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
This will be a chance for people to come and meet the Friends of the OAC and enjoy a light lunch. โIt is not like our fall luncheon when guests come at the opening and stay until after a program is finished. Instead, this is a come, eat, and
go-on-with-your-life luncheon.โ Take out will also be available.

Alleluia! Here's the reveal of the long-awaited glass display case for our John Idstrom bronze collection. John worked his entire 44-year career as a wildlife biologist for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. He created a series of North American wild game pieces, which were donated to OAC by his sons. You're invited to come see this stunning collection in person.
