The day I meant these two irl they exuded a zest for life that I haven’t quite gotten over. A couple that showed up with presence not only for each other but the experience of being fully here on Maui. Soaking up the beauty they saw with their eyes which included the people they met along the way. No moment lost on them as important to their elopement story. It was the details for them. It was the interest in my own story and the gratitude they brought to the officiant for the handmade lei. And I think the over the top moment for me was that they volunteered at Haleakala the day before. Connecting to the land in honor, in service. We also replicated a picture of their grandparents on the day of which was also an honoring I admire. I don’t think every couple has to do it this way but I do think couples should lean into THEIR way💕

The clouds looked like they were about to overflow from the moment we met. They didn’t do a first look, didn’t want the added stress of anticipation and coordination. I love giving big permission for couples to do what is best for them. To shut out what everyone else is doing. Fortunately being a couple that chose to elope they were are already on that path. The first few moments for these two I just watched how it was for them to be with each other. Internally I watched them take a few a deep breaths through some awkwardness and a bit of sweet anxious excitement. But once they settled, I saw the spark that initiated this whole big day! They leaned into the moment, the overcast sky, their inside jokes and the once in lifetime moment to declare such big love to the world. The ritual of it that I trust is echoing big love in their day to day.

Gonna go surf in a minute cause it is glorious conditions out there but want to leave this here. Cause these are glorious conditions too, I mean just look at that light, but the deeper beauty I see is in the way these two look at each other and what I sensed being with these two. That as long as these two are together the conditions are always just right💕

I am a self reflection j***y and so I get lots of energy from this time of year. In looking back on the kind of year Elope Maui has had I am in awe. The radiance of each couple really shown through in the way we collaborated to create their wedding day. It was a new way of planning I had never experienced. The elopements I plan are really for those who are not looking for cookie cutter options and man did my clients understand that this year! New venues, new islands and new cultural traditions. And a common them this year was multi-day elopements. Each unique with their ideas and ways of going about them, but the main thing is that they were really doing what was right for them, right for the amount of celebration their love deserves! But especially about taking advantage of the amount of diversity this island offers!

Simmering inside with this idea of what very committed effort towards consistent growth cultivates. There is a magic here with all areas of my life that I am leaning into. I have spiritual growth happening, physical goals evolving, relationships I am nourishing and it’s no different with Elope Maui. I am always listening, always curious about your experience and applying how to tweak it for the most fun, the most personal and meaningful experience you can have. What you want and maybe even what you don’t even know you want for your wedding day is possible! Keep dreaming, keep leaning into what it is you have been seeking. No need to tone it down. I got a recent inquiry for a private helicopter ride and also another one for a picnic with best views on the island. How great are those?! I have made the planning process a spacious place to settle into and enjoy. Dream elopement day?!

You see your elopement as a culminating and celebratory experience of your growth together, love for each other AND as the launching point of all you dream you will become together! Really connecting with couples this year in this way and I couldn’t be happier! I have a few open spots for elopements this summer and have a huge heart for this last minute decisions to elope. A post for another time though!
