UPDATE RE VILLAGE HALL RELOCATION
GREAT NEWS! Deb and Craig Stollery have graciously permitted us to set up a table at THE BARN on Saturday, February 17th, where the petition will be available for signing from 9 to 5. Please stop by!
Some people believe that the Village already went ahead with the purchase of 97 Main St., the post office building. THIS IS NOT TRUE.The Village voted to move forward with the purchase/rehab, which is not the same thing as having already purchased the building. If our petition effort is successful, the decision as to whether or not to move forward with the purchase/rehab will be in the hands of Registered Village Voters. That is what we are seeking, a SIMPLE VOTE, allowing TAXPAYERS to DECIDE WHETHER THE VILLAGE SHOULD SPEND $1.7 MILLION, and not the Village Board of just five people, on 97 Main St. Here is a timeline of important dates:
TIMELINE
January 31 – Village Hall Relocation Public Session (this presentation is available on the Village website)
February 7 – Village Board voted yes to a $1.7 million bond resolution to purchase/rehab 97 Main St., the post office building
February 17 – The GREAT SIGNATURE DRIVE BEGINS at THE BARN, where the petition will be available for signing from 9 to 5. Please stop by! We’ll have a firepit set up and would love to see you!
March 1 – Petition DEADLINE to get the vote on the ballot at the upcoming Village Election, on March 19th.
March 8 – Petition DEADLINE to call for a referendum on the purchase/rehab. If the petition is successful, there would then be a vote. HOWEVER, if we get the petition finished by March 1st, we will be able to put it on the ballot at the upcoming Village Election, on March 19th.
March 19 – Village General Election

This weather tells me to take some of these gorgeous flowers in my cooler and make some amazing $10 bouquets for the next 2 days, Thursday and Friday are looking like sidewalk weather. I’ve been asked before about Saturdays, unfortunately weather on Sat. does not permit me to do so! And for anyone that doesn’t know, these bouquets are only offered when 1. I can get great deals to pass along to you. 2. Weather permitting (on the sidewalk) 3. $10 cash ! place $ in the box or pay inside It’s an unfortunate world that I need to state this…I do have cameras So be honest and don’t place $1.00 in your hand to make it look like $10 And place it in the box. A Certain local guy on foot has done this 2 times, I won’t Be so forgiving the next time! I do know who you are. 4. No special request 5. I’ll always post on my FB when they’ll be put out They’ll be on the street 8 am tomorrow!
