Every season we have the incredible pleasure of being asked back to create something uniquely wonderful for a former client. While we couldn’t wait to catch up with the family, we were also anxiously waiting for Courtney and Brittany’s father Rick to share his latest rendition of the toast from the film “Father of the Bride.” Rewritten to suit this occasion, his toast was just as equally funny, and heartfelt for Courtney, as it had been for Brittany. It is a humbling reminder of the incredible responsibility we have and the trust that they share with us by choosing Boston Wedding Films for something as important as their wedding day. Congratulations!

Sunday Morning Over Easy

Time to share a guilty pleasure... After 14 years of speaking with clients about their weddings and what is important to them, the excitement for us with each and every conversation never gets old. It reminds us of how lucky we are to do what we love to do. Every person has a different story about how they met, what their likes are, and most of all what matters to them.

This Sunday morning was no exception. Her name was Angela. She emailed me late the night before and I was watching the clock tick slowly by. For me it was 5:15am (I have little kids), so I wanted to get to a more reasonable time of 10:00am to call her. For Angela it was all about how much fun she and Brendan have together, how they make each other laugh, and how they share this wonderful perspective that while there are times to be serious it is important to be able to laugh at yourself and not be afraid to go for it. That genuine laughter is their "special sauce” that gets them through anything.

After we spoke for a while she apologized for going on because she thought I was looking for specifics about the wedding and said she didn’t know what kind of questions to ask or what information I needed about times and plans because she had never been married before. And then in her true fashion, she laughed again. I told her not to worry, that she had provided everything we needed to lay the grounds for an amazing relationship together. I let her know that while it is important to plan accordingly, her wedding is a year away and we will have plenty of time for that.

So Angela & Brendan here is to 8.13.2015! Needless to say, "I am smiling as I type.”

Like many of you, we are planning to celebrate this Forth of July by going to a barbecue and having a drink or two. However, before that time we are volunteering our services for a worthy cause: The Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org).

Rachel and Mark both served in Afghanistan, suffered injuries, and after stints in multiple hospitals are now medically retired from the Army. Last summer they were engaged and fully expected to wait a few years to save up for their wedding. During that time, Southworth (Renaissance Golf Club) had reached out to The Wounded Warrior Project with a desire to host a dream wedding for local engaged veterans. Mark heard of this opportunity and applied, and ended up as a surprise to Rachel when they were chosen!

Many of the professionals who will be at this event were contacted by Leah Haydock (http://leahhaydock.blogspot.com/search?q=warrior), including Boston Wedding Films. We immediately accepted her invitation to provide our services to this great organization, and of course to Rachel and Mark.

What an incredible way to kick off this Independence Day celebration! We wish you all a happy and safe Fourth of July!
