Both a producer & band member over the years (guitar/synths), music has always been a central part of his life. Boogiemeister’s mission is to bring people together via unity on the dance floor, utilizing the healing power & true magic of music & dance. His DJ styles range from Global Bass, House, Future Funk, Electro-Swing, Downtempo, Dub & mixes that defy rhythm & gravity, tempos & time. His "Remix The Earth" project is taking him around the globe to record & share elements of Afro-Latin-Brazilian-Indian-Arabic fusions of post-modern whompiness that has become one of his signature styles. He has been involved in the music and dance scene for over 18 years and has played at legendary underground gatherings and festivals such as Symbiosis, Shambhala & Burning Man as well as internationally DJ’ing in places such as Brazil, Colombia, Europe, Mexico, Guatemala & more. He currently curates Dance The Change silent disco events in the Bay Area & is a regular DJ for Ecstatic Dances up & down the West Coast. Music is his religion!

We have two upcoming Dance The Change events for you this weekend! The first one Saturday from 7 to 10 PM at the place for sustainable living in Oakland will be outdoors with speakers. You’ve heard that right… No headphones for that one. Come get your groove on! DJ Boogiemeister and guests! hundred percent of funds will go to support Sogoreate Land Trust. The Place For Sustainable Living address: 1121 64th St, Oakland.

The second event will be Sunday from 1 to 4 PM at Snow Park/Lake Merritt with headphones. Both events are $10-$20 sliding scale.

Thanks to all the dancers they came out the last two Thursdays at Snow Park/Lake Merritt! We raised another $650 for roots community Health Center! And we had a Fantabulous time while we were at it! Thank you DJs Kellen Wohl, Joon Kiim, Akasha, And check in helper  extraordinaire Julie Tereba for your great energy and huge smiles and hugs!

Thanks to all that come out & danced! We made $694 in donations that I PayPal'd to Roots Community Health Center. They were very grateful & sent this email:

"Dear Adrian c/o The Dance for Change,

I would like to sincerely thank you for your generous $694.00 donation. Every donation helps ensure that we can continue helping our community especially during this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the last three months, our clinical team has worked around the clock, including weekends, to build and update guidelines for clinical decisions on diagnostic testing, personal protective equipment and treatments for those who are diagnosed with COVID-19. Clinical and Mental Health Services at our main campus, headquarters and Dream Youth Clinics in Oakland, as well as our San Jose site on the Alameda are converting routine appointments to phone appointments where possible; Oakland Street Team Outreach Medical Program (STOMP) will continue services prioritizing acutely and chronically ill unsheltered individuals at East and West Oakland encampments; Emergency bridge unit housing sites will continue 24-hour operations uninterrupted; food, hygiene products, and diaper distribution are continuing to Roots members in need; Navigation, Patient & Client Services, and Eligibility & Enrollment have been converted to telephonic where possible and the manufacturing of hygiene supplies will continue at our social enterprise, Clean360, for distribution (retail storefronts will be closed). Roots has recently partnered with the City of Oakland to be the first walk-up only COVID-19 testing site in the Bay Area and launched this endeavor May 6th.

I know there are a lot of other ways you could have spent this money, but you chose to invest it in the Roots organization. Because of this investment, we consider you part of our team. We're in this together, and we want our success to be your success. This donation will support continued efforts to eliminate wide health disparities and improve health outcomes for our Roots community.

There is a significant gain when community members seek to support one another, and we believe that through continued partnership we can help close gaps that exist between those underserved and those with more resources.

Thanks to all who came out and supported the second silent Disco for a cause last Sunday, November 17 at beautiful lake Merritt! We raised a total of $554 over the two events for almost home Oakland/city of Oakland to build small cabins for the homeless!
