🌲👩🏻‍🌾 Hey y’all!! Tomorrow is December! I feel like the pressure is on. I really do love this time of year though.

In case you were wondering we WILL be at Bounty of the Barrens Farmers' Market this Saturday from 8-12. We will have some of our beautiful evergreen wreaths and teardrop swags, strawflower ornaments, and some of our lovely everlasting wreaths.

Currently our wreaths are leaving out the door as soon as we are getting them made so please don’t wait to get your order in if you need it by a certain day.

🌾🍁🌷Good morning y’all!!!

I wanted to share some beautiful pics with you of a precious soul, Connie May Neal. She reached out to me several weeks ago to ask me to make a dried floral crown for her. Her hair was growing back and she was so excited to have some pictures made.❤️

The back story…..
I met Connie a few years ago. She works in the deli at a local grocery store in Hiseville and has made me my favorite breakfast so many times I can’t count on Saturdays when I’m headed to the farmer’s market or any other time I grab breakfast at Phillips Family Grocery & Butcher Shop( it’s a egg and tomato biscuit by the way). In Dec 2022, Connie was diagnosed with breast cancer and had surgery early in 2023. She finished her chemo and radiation in Oct 2023!!! And her hair is growing back!❤️

I think she looks beautiful and radiant! Thank you Connie for letting my flowers be part of your beautiful pictures. The photos were taken by Crystal Prather.🌷🌾

👩🏻‍🌾🦃🌾Hey y’all!!! Well it surely was a dreary day. It would have been a great day for reading and a nap!🤣 Maybe another time.🤷‍♀️ However, we did get some much needed rain.

So you might think with the cool rainy weather I stay inside. I did but I was outside inside the high tunnel planting those spring beauties -anemones and ranunculus. Today I finished planting all the anemones and ranunculus I had- about 1000 ranunculus and 1000 anemones. But who’s counting? My back and my knees are and they are not happy with me but it will be ok. It will be so worth it when these beauties bloom. I will be so excited when they do. And of course I will keep you posted.🫡

🌷👩🏻‍🌾 So yesterday I had the privilege of attending a Bulb Flower School at Three Toads Farm near Lexington with my dear friend Alison Sowder Campbell. We were there all day from 9:30 am- 3 pm.

To say it was fun would be an enourmous understatement. I learned so very much, got my hands in the soil and on beautiful bulbs, made new flower farmer friends, and brought beautiful things home along with wonderful knowledge to add to my business that I will soon be able pass along to you all.

And the best part was soaking in all the goodness of our host Val Schirmer. She is a flower farming powerhouse and current president of the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers, Inc. (ASCFG) in which I am a second year member. I’m so appreciative of all her knowledge and hard work she shared with us. And thank you to her husband “Rock” for all the great food and her friend Lee for all the great hospitality. It was truly a great day!! Thanks again Val!!❤️🌷👩🏻‍🌾

👩🏻‍🌾 🌷Why go pump iron at the gym when you can unload 1100 pounds of compost with a shovel one scoop at a time?💪🤣

In case you didn’t know, we don’t have a tractor so everything I plant and dig is by hand. Crazy?Well maybe, but I don’t want to go into debt for a tractor. I do think one day a tractor will be part of our future but not right now.

So the compost unload was yesterday. Today I dug a 40 ft trench for my spring tulip bulbs. I’m definitely getting the arm workout but really I use my arms like this all season long for various things and I’m so thankful to be able to do that. There is something to be said for the feeling I get when I am digging and planting in the soil.

I am behind with all my planting still but it’s getting done a little bit at a time. Enjoy last seasons spring pics of tulips, anemone, ranunculus, and daffodils. That’s what’s going in the ground this week. Just blink and spring will be here. Wait a second? I haven’t got Christmas shopping done yet. Oh well. It’s all good! 🍁🌾🦃 Just a reminder Bounty of the Barrens Farmers' Market is now on their winter schedule which is the first and third Saturdays of the month so no market tomorrow. Next Saturday it will be back on the square from 8-12. We will not be at next Saturday’s market but plan to be at the first market in December.

Just wanted to let you know our website went live with our holiday wreath workshops. I know it’s a little early to think about Christmas but is it really? It will be here before you know it. I have had several inquire about the wreath workshops so there you go. Check out petalseekersflowerfarm.com and choose more and workshops to take you to the wreath workshop page. There are different options to personalize your wreath for the workshop. You can also preorder a wreath, swag, or garland if you don’t want to do the workshop. We begin taking those preorders Mon Nov 13. Please message us if you have questions.

While you are checking out the workshops swing by the product page and have a look. We also have gift certificates, tshirts, and you can purchase a flower subscription for next year’s 2024 growing season off of our website. These don’t have to be for Christmas. They make great birthday gifts or anytime gifts for those flower lovers in your life.

We also still have some of our small everlasting pumpkins and brooms available for pick up at the farm and we also do delivery locally for orders over $25. Delivery is free for within 5 miles of our farm. We deliver up to 20 miles for a $10 delivery fee.

🍁🌾Hey y’all!!! We had a great time yesterday at the Everlasting Pumpkin Workshop. Creativity was blooming like crazy as exquisite floral pumpkins and brooms of all sizes came to life.

We enjoyed a little food and lots of fellowship! There was even a Birthday girl there Megan Jessie Jones! Happy Birthday!

I want to say a thank you to each and every one of you that came! We so enjoy sharing our florals and farm with everyone we can! Also a huge shout out to Lindsay Nunn for all her help because I couldn’t have done it with out you!

Our next workshops coming up will be on Dec 1st and Dec 2nd. Registration will open soon so watch our posts and website petalseekersflowerfarm.com this week so you don’t miss out.

👩🏻‍🌾🌻Hey y’all! This bold bouquet was my Frostmas Eve gift to myself. I cut every flower I saw last night so I could enjoy them just a little bit longer.

I’ve had several inquire about the class and am so thrilled y’all are as geared up about it as I am. We are going to have so much fun with these beautiful dried florals.

We will have other workshops coming up as Christmas approaches, possibly even another before Thanksgiving but I’m still working on the details and should know for sure sometime next week. 🎃💐🍁 We had a lot of fun at our everlastings workshop yesterday! Some beautiful dried pumpkin arrangements were made and we enjoyed some yummy treats! Milo the market cat is still exhausted.🫢

The everlastings will last beyond the life of the pumpkin and can be taken off and reused to embellish something else in your home if you like. We do not cut into these pumpkins and I recommend that they stay inside your home for maximum life of the pumpkin and the arrangement.

The pumpkins will make a beautiful low height centerpiece for your table with Thanksgiving being just around the corner.😉

🎃💐Hey y’all. Join us tomorrow from 8-12 at Glasgow Public Square for Bounty of the Barrens Farmers' Market.

We have some beauties for you! I think this will be the last of our fresh cut flowers for the season. All of these beauties were grown on our farm here in Barren Co of course.😁

I’ve begged the flowers for just one more “hoorah” and they delivered. We have the last of our pumpkin arrangements- a true favorite so see us early in the morning to snag one of these beauties. We have lots of other beauties you can take home with you too. We will also have a few of our dried floral everlastings too!!

Tomorrow afternoon make the beautiful drive over to the farm and enjoy the everlastings workshop from 2-4. We still have seats available. It means that Sat (Oct 21) from 2-4 pm we will host our very first dried floral everlastings workshop! I am so excited as it will be so much fun! We have the pumpkins to embellish and floral brooms to make! They are so PRETTY and last so LONG because they are dried.

I finally have a pic to give you an example of how these adorable brooms look! You have the choice to make a pumpkin 🎃 or a broom 🧹 for $40 or upgrade ($80) and do both. There is also an option to upgrade to make an additional small pumpkin for $10.

We will be engaging our creative fall floral side as we embellish these beautiful pumpkins and hand made brooms ( you get to make the broom!!😀😀) We have lots of floral everlastings just waiting for their place in these joy filled workshops!
