Love to share the beauty when I can. This particular evening wrapped up the fresh flower season here at What a special moment it was for me to watch these ladies cut flowers as the golden hour approached and then finish it off with conversation and drinks by the fire. Hmmm… I’m thinking more of these would be nice to do as a full workshop. Would you be in? Cheers to wrapping up the season and putting it to bed on a beautiful October night. This week we transition to wreaths and slow down for a moment 🍁🧡🍂 ☀️🍂🌻

Wreath season! 💃🥰🍁. I have 5 naked grapevine wreaths at the moment just waiting for people to dress them up! So… I’m looking for 5 people either as a group or individually who would like to join me for a private workshop in my Wreath Room! I have a lot of natural fall grasses, foliage, dried flowers, feathers and more to create any style of wreath. Starting at $45. Pick a date and time that works for you over the next two weeks. The above is an example of a $50 wreath and is close to 24” wide from the most outer dimensions including leaves 🍁

This was an awesome evening and we all made new friends by the end of the night!The floral creations were outstanding and it was so cool to watch everyone’s style come through in their finished project. Thanks to everyone who participated and indulged me in sharing my passion of florals and local blooms. and helped me put on such a successful workshop 🥰

Cutting everything I can today! Really happy for this week’s dahlia harvest. I still hoped for more stems per plant but we had such a cold spring/late summer. I have 11 orders for bouquets that I’ll make tonight and I will post if I have enough flowers for more!

What a nice evening after all the rain we have finally had. So…. Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you, there are baggies on my lisi blooms. If I don’t take the time to put the organza bags in them they get eaten up by leaf cutter bees 😭

Week two of bouquet subscriptions went out today. It has certainly been a push to get enough flowers for the bouquets this year but I’ve been able to make it work! August Will certainly be a bumper crop with all the heat we are getting now. Water water water!

Meet Marissa Marrero! She is a gem and has been a true life savor here at Alpenglow and to me. She wears many hats which include farm manager, assistant florist, personal assistant, planter, weeder, bouquet wrapper, delivery driver and grocery getter!

Marissa grew up in Tampa Florida and moved out west a few years ago. Her experience on a flower farm in Utah is where her passion for flowers grew and now she shares that passion with us here in Montrose, CO.

Her favorite things to do when she doesn’t have her hands busy at the flower farm are hiking and biking with her husband and sweet dog. Her favorite flower is the jaw dropping dahlia! Marissa looks forward to making more bouquets this season, helping out on workshops and weddings and of course planting hundred of dahlias.

Can’t wait for these delphinium to start blooming! They are up and growing and blooms will be starting in June! Asparagus season will be here soon too! 😝 the lonely asparagus shoot in my back yard

Lisianthus in all their frilly glory! Roughly two more months until they are blooming! They are worth the wait and they are 500% better when grown locally than when they get shipped in. I believe this is the Voyage Apricot series.

So far the verdict on spring workshops are: 1. Seedstarting workshop
2. Home gardening basics workshop
3. Growing your own cut flower garden!

Dates and times to be determined but starting within the next two weeks! I would love to here the days and times that are convenient for people to do a 1.5-2 hour workshop!

🥳The weather is finally going to break so I can get in my fields to start prepping the flower beds for this season!🌸 Soooooo happy! We have about 600 seeds sown and have THOUSANDS more to get sowing in the next 3 weeks.
