Wedding #8 yesterday was all about the pastas - lasagna, chicken alfredo AND spaghetti w/meatballs - along with both our strawberry spinach salad AND our Italian salad, plus both breadsticks AND those garlic biscuits . . . Everyone loved the menu and they ate it up!

We were back at the lovely Merry Ledges - as always, its just a pretty place with a good vibe. We'll be back at East Ridge next weekend then weddings wrap up in late October with a reception at a new venue in Marengo. We've put the miles on the TB2 travel convoy this year!

Thinking about using us for a WEDDING or BIG EVENT? Let's talk about it and get it on the calendar - we've already got several things scheduled for the next couple years (and I still can't believe y'all are booking us that far out!)

I promised yummy food pics, and we might've got a couple this time . . . The past few days were kind of a whirlwind! We dropped off some goodies on Friday afternoon and then set up for our Saturday event - pretty sure we didn't stop until a few minutes ago.

Baked goods & some of our chex mix for our friends at TK Wholesale and then a pasta bar dinner for a tour bus group visiting Corydon from Canada (yes, Canada!)

Tim made Chicken Scallopini, which we don't do often, and it was fabulous! We also did Pasta Primavera and our Veggie Lasagna, along with Kaity's Strawberry Spinach Salad (also a big hit, they ate ALL of it!)

Their dessert request was a chocolate bar - don't have to twist our arm for that! We included mini red velvet/white chocolate trifles, triple chocolate mini cheesecakes, andes mint dark chocolate cookies and double dipped oreo balls 😋

Fall wedding season kicks off next week, and can you even believe it's already "Fall" even though it's gonna be uber hot and humid again . . .

It's a beautiful TB2 baking day . . . We've got a full crew going with Kaity & Ashley on cookies & mini cakes, Tim's doing cream cheese stuffs (trifle filling, oreo balls, mini cheesecakes) and I'm doing the scones & muffins. Chaos? Nah . . .

Maybe we'll remember to get some yummy pics 😉

Power of the Purse 2024 - our super"power" salad bar seemed to be a hit! We did run out of hard boiled eggs - and I'll admit, I didn't listen to Kaity Riley when she told me 5 dozen eggs weren't enough . . . Yeah, I said 5 dozen 🙀

Many thanks to the POP committee and the Chamber of Commerce of Harrison County for having us! It's always a great time meeting new folks and visiting with old friends in our community!

Pink & Black is one of my favorite color combos, and it just makes a space POP!And you know I just love to pull out all kinds of stuff for special occasions! (Tim, not so much - cue the frowns, eye rolling & sighs)

Mini cakes for 250 means you have to load up your baking cart and roll that sucker in - that was kinda neat, but seeing how excited they were for the mini cakes was kinda priceless 🥰
(and beware, my pics of them aren't great - I kept forgetting to put on my glasses that were hanging around my neck!)

We also had small charcuterie boxes on the tables for all the guests - and you haven't seen anything until you watch a charcuterie for 250 assembly line. Quite entertaining 🤣

Kaity did 2 infused waters in these cute little beverage dispensers she bought and they were delicious. We went thru at least 6 gallons of water filling them up.

Special thanks to our extra team members yesterday - we couldn't have done it without Norma, Kristen and Sophia 🙌

Good Morning y'all and ain't she a beauty 😍 Tim's gotta throw some chicken halves on the smoker in a bit, but I'm just gonna sit on the porch and enjoy it 🥰

Well, the gang's back together - we hadn't all been in the kitchen since June 22 😮 Not gonna say we were a little rusty but there might've been some awkward moments until we got back in the groove 🤭

The lunch we put together on Thursday was just full of goodies we don't get to do very often - chicken dumplings 😋 cheesy broccoli soup 😋 brisket sliders 😋 In fact it had been so long since Tim had made dumplings, we had to find the recipe!

Planning & prep for Power of the Purse next Thursday is also in full swing. If you drove past yesterday you would've seen us mocking up our salad bar set up and this morning I started pulling out the black & pink stuffs - if you know us, you know our presentation is as important as our food.

Good Morning Friends!

Before we actually dive into our next busy spurt, we're going to be looking for some extra help . . . our faithful group of kids are headed back to school, plus they have other part time jobs. I know everybody has a hard time finding help which is why I'm hoping maybe you know someone this opportunity would be perfect for 🤞

We prefer someone who is familiar with food service - simple prep, setups, serving - and is able to tote & carry (cause we do a lot of that 😉)

No set schedule or hours and it's not even part-time, it would be on an as needed basis but we would give plenty of notice since we schedule so far out.

We're a people business so being able to talk to people is a must, as is being able to multi task (when we're hopping, we're hopping!)

We pay well and we're bunches of fun (maybe not Tim?) Anyone interested can message me directly . . .

We get asked a lot about what we can do - the easy answer is most anything!

Big events, luncheons, private dinners, family celebrations, showers, fancy little receptions, etc . . .

Don't necessarily need full catering but just need a couple things? We do that too - someone asked for a salad recently for a 4th of July party and tomorrow we're making just a couple pies for a shower.

Tim's got a big smoker - you can always get him to smoke meat. We have a whole dessert menu if you're looking for sweets. Appetizers? Yes - my favorite thing!

Don't let "I didn't know if you did that" keep you from considering us for your catering needs!

Well gosh, y'all - bet you thought I forgot about you?! NEVER 🥰

Tim's been working me to death while we're off - I've been promoted from general lackey/beer girl to assistant (hold this board, switch that battery, find the tape measure, etc 😉) He did let me use the grinder and nail gun a little but I think the jumping and "oohhh" sounds I made each time were too much 🙄 In the spirit of keeping a healthy marriage, I was delegated (dismissed!) to pressure wash all gazillion feet of decks we have - the neighbors will be happy to know I'm done so the neighborhood will be silent again 🤣

We did get away a couple days - ate our way to/from Shipshewana - and Kaity got to spend a few days in the mountains so we're all refreshed 😊

Of course we have squeezed in some catering things. Tim made pork loin & wedding chicken for a friend, I put together a strawberry spinach salad all by myself and we did a reception at Harrison County Arts.

Check out the pics of the cute little pull- apart pie . . . and if you ever make one ignore the prep time they tell you. They LIE. It took Tim & I probably 2hrs to assemble that thing 🤪

Well, YAY - a little rain yesterday and a lovely Monday morning to enjoy some of that leisurely porch sittin' . . . We've had a light schedule the last week or so, but who wants to porch sit when it's just UGH outside 🥵

We so enjoyed our lunch group on Saturday; this was the 2nd year we've catered for them while they were staying at the Hampton Inn . . . a little pulled pork & grilled chicken halves along with our pasta salad AND potato salad.

I do love a good cold salad, and we're pretty proud of these. We trial&errored both of them until we got them right - nothing worse than a big ole scoop of soggy that doesn't have any flavor 🤮

For fun, we took the clients requests for pies and created a "pie bar" with a combo of individual 4" apple pies, homemade fried cherry pies, mini Hershey chocolate cream pies and Tim's yummy coconut cream pies in a dessert cup 🥧 Rachel let us set them up on her center bar and I gotta say, it was pretty dang cute 😍

We'll be taking some time off the next few weeks - Tim's got another deck/porch demo & reno he's itching to get started, and we know how he gets when it's time 😉

I'll be working in the office, so if I told you I'd send you info or get back to you after June, now is that time 👏

We have a pretty steady fall wedding schedule, so if you're gonna need us (and of course, we hope you are), reach out sooner rather than later before we book up. And remember, it's never too early to book for the holidays!

Y'all, we made it 🙌, we mighta lost the spring in our step sometime over the last 12 wks of spring catering, but we survived without scars (except Tim of course; he's a walking billboard for bandaids & neosporin 🤪)

And yay, we did snag a few pics last night - it's salad, lots of salad but there's a backstory . . .

We've been lucky enough to work with Gypsy Rain Organics to get the freshest greens for Kaity to put together her pretty salads. And yeah, they're usually pretty but there's no taste comparison - we've had SO MANY compliments! Many thanks to Tad & crew for helping us up our salad game!

But wait - I've also got pork pics . . . Another shoutout to Jeff & Amanda at J&A Cattle Company for keeping us in the BEST beef and pork for the past year. We were introduced to their brisket last May and were hooked! If you've had our Bacon Wrapped Pork Loin, Zesty Brisket, Pulled Pork or our Taco Beef you know what I'm talking about 😋

You can usually find both these guys at the Farmer's Market on Fridays in Corydon, and on Facebook. Check 'em out and you'll be hooked 🪝

Oops 😬 No food pics once again 🫢
But look at this cutie - kinda tired to consider dancing, and besides, you know I can't dance anyway, but I do love the contented look on her face (and her gray hair!)

Four weddings down and two to go in our spring wedding season, with four scheduled for this fall 🙀

Wedding season favorites continue to be Taco Bars, but we're doing a few Pasta Bars this year 😋 and we're seeing BBQ make a comeback (Tim 😁)

And since we're chatting, who remembers when wedding reception "food" was just cake, butter mints & nuts ?!?! That's still one of my favorite taste combos 😍

Oops, I got so caught up in sitting on the front porch enjoying this beautiful day I forgot the post I was planning to do 🤭

I always look at what national day it is for amusement, sometimes I get to use it and sometimes I don't 😅 I did see that today is World Baking Day AND National Devil's Food Cake Day 😋 Sounds like a great celebration to me!

We were back at Merry Ledges for a wedding last night - it's so charming and just makes me smile when we walk in, even if it's not decorated yet it's just got a good vibe 🫠

Of course, I didn't get a single pic 🙄 BUT, how about some pics of the cookies & cakes we just made . . . in honor of the above mentioned significant days 😉

Happy Friday, friends! If y'all walk past us and we smell like garlic, don't judge - no vampires - tons of sauces, lasagnas, alfredos, garlic breads & biscuits 😋 We sure hope the 250+ folks we fed the last few days have enjoyed our PASTA WEEK 🍝

We've had several people ask about "who made this", "where did you buy those", "what brand is this" . . . I'm happy to report that almost everything we make, we MAKE - we're firm believers in homemade is best. And if we can't make it homemade, we'll tell you that from the beginning 😏

In addition to Election Day this week, we've had the pleasure of taking lunch to some of our county teachers - it's Teacher's Appreciation Week 😊 If you haven't yet, show them some ❤️

We're wrapping up with a Pasta Bar Rehearsal Dinner this evening, and then we rest . . . The next four weekends are weddings 💒

Pics of pastas - including our homemade sauces - another pretty salad and LAST BUT NOT LEAST - our dear friend, Callie Hoehn, at New Middletown Elem. Tim always made sure she had spaghetti-o's as a youngster in youth group. It's fitting (and darn right amusing!) that he brought her some this morning when they delivered to her school 🥰

GOOD MORNING! And look at this beautiful sun that popped up as we were headed home after dropping off breakfast for the friends working the polls in Corydon 😊

Probably won't get many pics today, it's gonna be a whirlwind, but here's some fun facts about our prep for today . . .

We baked 8 dozen muffins and triple chocolate cookies plus 100 mini white wedding cakes 😯

We've made 20qts of Italian meat sauce for lasagna and Tim's currently whipping up over 50 cups of alfredo sauce 😋
(our niece Jamie's delish recipe!)

16qts of chicken salad & 96 croissants to slice for dinner 🙀

Kaity did both fruit cups and berry fruit parfaits - using about 25 lbs of fruit 😁

It's already 8:20 and we're still perky . . . 8hrs to go 🤪

Yeah, it's been a minute since our last post . . . Spring has SPRUNG - like bees a buzzing around here!

In between gigs, we managed to carve out some time for new recipe development (sounds fancy, huh?!)
It's a hoot-n-half when we're testing and tweaking recipes, and yeah, the oopsy ones get the most laughs 😃

We're debuting a couple new things in box lunches today - a chopped broccoli salad, a strawberry pretzel salad and a white cheddar pimento cheese. Along with our fancy chicken salad, we're calling this our Quad Salad Cold Plate.

Kaity has been upping the cookie game with versions of a gourmet cookie. The big winner this week is a Strawberry Lemonade with a white chocolate drizzle.

This is a full weekend, we've got a Baby Shower and a First Communion Reception with more Boxed Lunches on Monday.

I've tried to get pics of everything plus I threw in some cupcakes, a small simple vanilla wedding cake we did, and a new muffin (Sinfully Cinnamon!)

It's a Sunday-FUNday 😊 We're cleaning up from last night's event - technically I'm cleaning up, Tim & his tractor have already bonded this morning 😉 This afternoon, we're gonna have to mow before the HOA visits . . .

Thanks to Leadership Harrison County for having us, we always enjoy working with you 🙂 and we do love events at the Boys & Girls Club of Harrison County - they have a wonderful facility ❣️

One of our greatest compliments is when people are genuinely excited to see us when they walk in - confident they're going to get a good meal. It's also the folks telling us they've heard good things about us, are excited to eat with us, then making it a point to stop as they head out to tell us they loved it 🥰 We so appreciate it!

Tim's Pork Loin was fabulous last night (Thanks J&A Cattle Company !) and Kaity's Strawberry Spinach Salad is always a hit; the simple little dessert bar featured some oldies but goodies (our Cheesecake Cake & Amish Sugar Cookies) as well as the little custard & blueberry tarts (beautifully put together by our Norma!)

Happy GOOD FRIDAY, Friends! It's going to be a beautiful weekend for sunrise services, egg hunts, families, friends and hopefully lots of good food ❤️

We've had a busy week off, mostly just catching up around here - it's always surprising that we seem to have less time to do things than when we all worked "real" full time jobs 🤔

Scrolling around this morning, I saw that it's National Mom & Pop Business Owners Day - didn't even know that was a thing, but YAY 🥳

It might be a side hustle, but we're awfully proud of our little family business 🥰

Y'all, we've been on 🔥 over here; literally fire every day for days . . . After smoking over 300 # of meat, Tim's STILL giddy (if you can imagine that); it reminds me of the first big bbq grin after I introduced him to North Carolina BBQ about 32 yrs ago . . . Glenn's in Kannapolis is still our #1 even though he's been out of business for years 😌

We had our first corporate event, feeding over 250 (2 days, 2 locations, 5 shifts!) with pulled pork, smoked chicken, mac & cheese plus we introduced them to our smoked beans and cornbread salad . . . By the time we rolled back home after the last drop, we were beat (old people tire so easily!)

Last Saturday, we spent time with our friends at Harrison County Arts for their latest exhibit opening, and as usual, it was a great time! They change exhibits about every 8wks so there's always something new to see (yeah, you really should stop in and check it out!)

We pulled out a couple new things - Cornbread Tarts w/Pork BBQ and a Cheddar Pecan Ring w/Strawberry Preserves (both yummy, trust me!) We also dug out an old tea party favorite - our Shrimp Toast Cups, and they proved to be a favorite again. We also created our version of a Mississippi Mud Pie, mini sized of course.

Another BBQ tomorrow, then we're off for a week before we spring into our version of spring madness!

Oops, forgot to plan one of my delightful posts for this week . . . It's been a week - we both had knee injections on Tuesday and allergies have moved in over here 🤧.

Luckily we've had a light schedule - delivered a brisket dinner Monday for one of our favorite contractors, prepping today for an HCA exhibit opening tomorrow plus Tim's got the smoker SMOKIN with pork & chicken for a corporate event Monday & Tuesday.

I did a batch of mini strawberry crunch cakes this morning and have started batches of our bbq sauces while anxiously awaiting for Tim to bring me lunch - today is Big Mac day and yes, I'm 100% eating my emotions 😉

How about a 15lb box of bacon, 150 lbs of pork loin, AND his favorite sharp knife 😁

Add it all together, and somebody's gonna have a GOOD dinner 😋 Y'all, it already smells good at TB2 this morning!

A funny story - one of our little neighbor girls asked her Momma, "I wonder what they're cooking over there?" Obviously, Tim took her some pork loin (shhh, he is a big softie 😉)

Gotta go, I'm on green bean duty . . .

Good Morning, Foodie Friends - it's gonna be a beautiful day and hopefully we're gonna make it better for Emily R King . . . Congrats, Emily - you are the winner of our Leap Year GIVEAWAY! And Happy "Pretend 11th Bday" 🎂

MINI CAKES have been a big hit at our events. We've included them on our dessert bars and as the main attraction. The Red Velvet seems to be a favorite (obviously 😍) and the Carrot Cake runs a close 2nd but even the basic flavors just taste better mini-fied! We do a white wedding cake, triple chocolate, and strawberry crunch 😋 plus some seasonal flavors (the pumpkin spice was delish!)

And, YES, we do take orders for just baked goods!

This beauty is our grand-dog, Fern. She took off from Ashley's grandparents farm yesterday evening. They've walked the woods and pastures in the area of Harrison Heth/Ripperdan Valley/Heth Washington and she was spotted both in person and on a trail cam from houses on Heth Washington Rd. Please share if you have family or friends in that area so we can bring her home.

Rise & Shine, Kids! We were looking forward to sleeping in this morning, but the ginormous wind chimes Tim made me had other ideas . . . So we rose, not shining yet 🥱

It's been a tad busy - some crazy person planned a pasta blitz w/box lunches, 3 dinner giveaways and a tasting for a wedding this week 🙃 We've made lasagna, veggie lasagna, chicken alfredo, pasta primavera and even a batch of spaghetti & meatballs - there's no garlic left in our house! (BTW -
said crazy person has been grounded from crazy ideas for awhile!)

I did snag a few pics . . . Kaity's little salad bowls for the box lunches were the cutest little things 😍 Not a single pic of the veggie lasagna (and it got rave reviews) but a mouth watering shot of one of our small italian sausage lasagnas that we included in our giveaway.

We tried a cannoli cake cup and included small red velvet bundts in our giveaway - both were oh so yummy 😋 Gonna wrap up the week with some cupcakes this morning for a little birthday boy 🧁

LEAP YEAR GIVEAWY - if you shared your leap year age on our 2/15 post, we'll be picking a winner earlier in the week (instead of the 29th) so Tim can whisk me away for a couple days 🙌 I'll pull some pics of our mini cakes and post them tomorrow just to entice you to participate 😉
