Since then I have done well over a hundred other weddings, from courthouse to back yard to major venues. I truly love this work and always want to remain true to my values- providing a ceremony that reflects your story.

Anyway, Saturday was a bright, beautiful (if a bit steamy and humid) day and I was privileged to marry these two beautiful people.

I had a wedding Friday and another today. Both very small courthouse affairs.
For both of these couples, I was able to give them a ceremony that was meaningful and personalized. I simply love doing this!
For one of them we had enough lead time that they were able to fill out my intake and give me lots of details. The other one though, it was more of a true elopement, called me the day before. But with a quick phone call and a few texts asking for details, I was still able to give them a personal touch.
ALL of my couples are meaningful to me; those who schedule a year in advance, and those who call me the evening before.
I'm honored that you allowed me to be part of your wedding, and you'll always get the best I have to offer.
Another beautiful weekend of weddings in the books.
One was a jeans-and-hoodies affair on a fishing dock, and the other was a formal event at an exclusive club. Both were full of love and laughter which makes them equally special in my eyes.

Marrying folks of course! We don't let a little thing like torrential downpours get in the way, and when the time of the ceremony is important for sentimental reasons, we don't wait until the sky clears up either!

This couple chose a hilarious way to make their statement and while this may not be the right approach for every ceremony, it definitely makes a point.

A few weeks ago I was honored to marry a family in what turned out to be one of the sweetest, most authentic ceremonies yet.
The couple had a big event wedding planned for later this summer, but wanted to say their vows on a day that was special to them. I reminded them that my fees are the same whether we met at the courthouse, or if we met at a place that is special to them. So, it was decided that we would meet up and have the elopement at the fast food place they met when they worked there years ago.
So at noon on a Tuesday, we met (along with about a dozen family members who came at the last minute) in a grassy strip by the restaurant. I seriously wanna be friends with grandma who arrived with a trunk full of lawn chairs :-)
With bride and groom wearing shorts and little ones running around, Ashley and Robert spoke their vows. There were tears and laughter, jokes and moments of sincerity. This day was all about the authentic moments. Zero stress, zero worry about timing or music or flowers or makeup.
When it comes to elopements, I've done plenty of courthouse weddings, back yard weddings, and standing on the dock weddings. This was my first fast food restaurant wedding. It was just as lovely, just as memorable, just as meaningful as the more formal ones. My goal as an officiant, whether you book me 6 months before or 6 days before, is to write a ceremony that celebrates you, that tells your story, and reflects your commitments.
