'In retrospect, the road from retirement to The Upper Fifty was the one less travelled. Off balance by 180 degrees from a society-driven normal, life squared me off with a condemned red cross bus parked in the middle of the Boise National Forest. The velocity of change s
et course, spinning me into a web of nothing I had prepared for; and I was forced to release my grip on the wheel of control. With surrender came immediate answers to unknown questions, encouraging the first babiest of steps against the enormity of work ahead. With each new day, one of equal measure faded from what used to be and at it's end, I'd question what's next to no one listening. Prayers for a miracle went unanswered until that moment I understood why: I was living the miracle. Without warning, clarity reconciled chaos with an unfamiliar peace. Not a day goes by without reveling in two truths: the deep dark of the forest was my saving grace and the old bus, the only antidote to my homesick soul, singing back-up to my off-key 'The House That Built Me.' I choke on humbled tears when I look back on how I got here, and how blessed I am for living a life others plan for. This weekend proved that much, with our guests and familiars arriving with no expectation/intention other than to rejuvenate. 😌
Our sunflowers are at their peak, as well as much of the blossoming gardens surrounding the property. 🌻💐
And the already astounding property improvements and awaiting projects on standby are promising reminders for our little land this winter. 🤩
For now, we hope to connect more like this, surrounded by the thriving environment, with like-minded people finding answers to questions we didn’t know we had. 🌀

Now is the best time to escape the heat of the city and snag our fleeting summer discount! ☀️
On average, we’re about 10-15°F cooler than the concrete jungle and though the sun beams can still be scorching, the wandering pine shade makes for welcoming points of view around the property. 🌲
Each tiny home rental comes with its own kitchenette and sleeping arrangements, with our green ‘Tiny T’ highlighting two lofts and a den/desk area. 🏡
Come up for a relaxing mountain getaway surrounded by gardens and a cozy campfire or adventurous outdoor rendezvous on the trails and by the river. 🏞️

New blooms and new friends. 💐🤝
This week, our sunflowers have officially started their domino effect blooming season — currently sitting at four of a myriad sunflowers self-seeded on property. 🌻
We also welcome in the spotty windflowers both natural to our environment and sown at our first women’s retreat this year, and blueberries we’ve been waiting for since last year. 🌷🫐
Friends of all kinds have shown their satisfaction for our little habitat, like hummingbirds, butterflies, and grasshoppers, as well as the occasional fly, spider and wasp, of course. 🦋🦗🕷️🐝
Our Behemoth Sunflower ‘Beast’ has grown a whopping 3ft above our tiki torch around the fire pit since last week and our wall of 30+ sunflowers adjacent have exceeded child height at this time. 🌱
More blooms are expected to arise with the help of pruning, de-weeding, and transplanting to nutrient-rich areas. 🪴
Gifts are all around us. 💝
We just have to be aware enough to see and recognize them. 🪶
Do you know about the hummingbird moth? 🪰
I’d never seen them before this year, but what delightful social creatures they are! ✨
A few visited our gardens last night and it reminded me to search for the deeper message. 🌱
They are incredible, rare pollinators that work alongside bees and hummingbirds alike, and unlike other moths, they tend to be active during the day, emerging during spring and especially playful during summer. 🐝☀️
Since it behaves more like a butterfly than a typical moth, it’s symbolism coincides with the transformation and life changes that are on the way for the greater good. 🦋
They are considered a sign of good luck and raising spiritual vibration. 🍀💖

This week, a couple reached out to us to see if we’d be willing to do a trade. 🤝

It’s always remarkable how powerful communing around the campfire re-ignites our internal flame. 🕯️
Struggle is unfortunately a large part of the human experience. But so is beautiful, transformational growth when we throw what isn’t working to the fire in order for new life to flourish. 🌱
At this time, we’re very grateful to have each other and to be able to share our wounds and our healing with each other. 💖
We haven’t found a better spot that brings us this much peace. 🌲💞
Birdie’s Great Adventure has come to an end. 🥀
Through a series of unfortunate events on the dawn of the Summer Solstice and first day of Cancer, a wind vortex from a passing semi sucked our trailer and car into a whirling, spiraling dervish before crashing on its side leaving our vehicle upright but facing oncoming traffic in the right lane. 🌪️
Thankfully everyone is okay and nobody was injured. Hardly anything was broken inside the trailer, but it was beyond repair. Most of the items were recovered, and we are grateful for what truly matters. 🙏🏼
Right now, we are asking for your kind words and support. Much of the personal learning experience we’ve encountered on this trip is already processed and being integrated in future endeavors. 💞
What’re you going to do? We’re not done yet. This just means it’s onto bigger and better. ⏩️
Been there, dune that! 🏜️🌛
Our first travel day did not go as expected, but.. that is to be expected, right?! 😅
After some delays getting out of the driveway, spreading our wings for the first time, forcing travel on a cat that doesn’t normally travel, and stopping for errands along the way, we finally made it to Oregon.. and then back to Idaho to spend the night at Weiser’s Sand Dunes. 🌄🚗💨
After she had a lot to say about the trip, Scout finally settled in and decided to save her chit chat for later when she’s feeling more energized. 🐈
The only real issue we’ve run into is that, on occasion, Birdie will fishtail slightly within our lane on the highway… which is caused by a variety of factors, like wind, high speeds, steep hills, other trucks, unequal weight distribution, and low tire pressure. 🤷🏼♀️
We checked and refilled the tires, which has seemed to alleviate the problem, but we may need to look into getting some sort of stabilizer if it ends up continuing. 🛞

Mama and her two babies were found in the old chicken coop a couple weeks ago. 😻
We suspect these black and white kits are around 4-5 weeks old and will need new loving homes to go to soon. 🖤🤍
They’ve been getting accustomed to human touch and dry food for their growing teeth, and so far, everything is going smoothly. 💞
Both of these kittens appear to be females and are very fluffy, which tells me they get that from their shared father. 🎀

Carla + Greg picked us up to caravan to Symes Hotel, just a bit northwest from Missoula, and from there, we camped, danced, soaked, loved and experienced our first taste of life on the road! 🚐🚗💨
That big sky country is unlike anything we’ve ever seen, and we’ve become new fans of that little shabby chic hot springs town, full of small town friendly vibes and deer comfortable in people’s backyards. 🏞️🦌☺️
We’ve got one more week before Birdie’s Journey takes flight, and leaves the nest to find adventures beyond the horizon. 🌄🦅

We knew it’d be a powerful time, but little did we expect the magic that’s weaved it’s way throughout the events of the retreat. 🪄
The energy exchange between the divine feminines that showed up and showed out, and that of the Universe providing aligned synchronicity and obvious confirmation, filled the cups of every attendee.🌀✨
We cleansed ourselves with contributions of sage bundles, deliciously nutritious sustenance, the fast-flowing river, innate creative juices, gardening in fertile soils, enlightening spiritual discussion, releasing burdens by fire, and soaking up the minerals of natural hot springs. 💖

This past weekend, we found inspiration in new blooms popping up here and there — even new sprouts from the seeds we planted at the last women’s retreat. 🌷
In light of these emerging blossoms, we felt compelled to propagate the entire property with sunflowers. 🌻
We’ve never taken last year’s sunflower seeds and planted them before, but we’re cautiously optimistic they will find their way — they always do. 🌞

We helped each other break through old thought patterns, journeyed to connect more to ourselves and our surroundings through nature, rooted our manifestations in potent soiling ground, expressed creative feminine power, and burned away the release of ties not meant for us to hold — amongst a myriad of memories of pure joy for where we find ourselves in the here and now, marked by unforgettable laughter. 💖
A huge thank you goes out to our divine masculine volunteer in cooking and cleaning during the weekend to allow all of our girls on property to fully immerse ourselves in the collective healing process. With you, we are finally closer to bringing the divine Yin and Yang energies together. ☯️
