Attention brides-to-be! ❗️💍
If you want healthy, photo-ready hair on your wedding day, here’s a simple bridal haircare timeline:

✨ 6 months prior - evaluate scalp health with a professional. If any treatments need to be done, don’t wait till the end moment.

✨ 1 month prior - schedule your hair colour appointment. If your hair has colour already don’t wait till the end moment to get a refresh for your wedding day.

✨3 weeks before - the wedding, get your final trim. This includes making sure ends are neat, overall quality looks healthier and the face framing pieces are just the right length.

✨ A week before - Don’t get any protein treatments or hair spa just before the styling day. Get done with that at least a week prior. Same applies for any other treatments.

✨ Finally discuss with your hairstylist, the hairstyles, your hair texture and nature of scalp. Based on that you can decide your wash schedule. Eg. For brides with finer hair, skipping the conditioner is recommended however for frizzy hair conditioner is essential.

Save this for later and don’t forget to share this 💓

Indian weddings aren’t just beautiful, they’re layered with deep meaning and hidden symbolism woven into every ritual. Here are a few fascinating ones you may have missed:

👣 Footprints of the goddess
In a Hindu wedding, when a bride enters her new home for the first time after the wedding, it’s a ritual called Griha Pravesh. Part of this ritual often involves the bride dipping her feet in red kumkum (vermilion) and making footprints as she enters the house, symbolizing the welcoming of prosperity and blessings to her new family. This is sometimes referred to as «Lakshmi’s feet».

🔥 Fire as the witness
In Hindu weddings, the couple walks around a sacred fire seven times in a ritual called Saptapadi. Each round represents a vow, including commitments to nourishment, strength, faith, love, and companionship for life.

⭐ Eyes to the Eternal
In South Indian Hindu weddings, the priest asks the married couple to look up and point towards the stars, signifying the aspiration for stability and a deep-rooted commitment to upholding the sacred vows of marriage.

👟 The case of the missing shoes
In many North Indian weddings, the bride’s sisters hide the groom’s shoes during the ceremony in a playful tradition known as Joota Chupai. It represents bonding between families and usually ends with a lighthearted negotiation or bribe to get the shoes back.

Which of these surprised you the most? Share your favorite South Asian wedding ritual in the comments.

As a wedding vendor, planning my own wedding gave me a whole new perspective. 💍

Being on both sides of the experience taught me so much — and I want to share some honest, helpful advice for any couple currently in the planning process:
✨Read everything
Vendors take a lot of time to put together quotes, contracts, helpful PDF guides, and website copy to help educate potential clients on our services and policies. You’re spending a lot of money on vendors, so don’t do yourself a disservice by not taking a few extra minutes to read everything!
✨Ask questions
If you’re ever unsure about something, never be afraid to ask questions! As vendors, your wedding is most likely not our first rodeo and it’s our job to help you in any way we can!
✨Don’t assume
If there are changes in headcount or locations or design, let vendors who need to know as soon as possible. This will avoid hiccups and unnecessary stress!
✨Use vendors as your inspo
I know that trendy weddings are everywhere and set the trends, but sometimes these expectations can not only be unrealistic, but also out of budget. Instead, utilize your vendors’ portfolios as your inspo - there’s a reason why you hired them!

Vendors drop your advice for engaged couples in the comments! What should they know? What should they avoid? What advice do you have from your own wedding? 👇🏻

Today we celebrate Raksha Bandhan — a beautiful Indian tradition honoring the bond between brothers and sisters. 💛

On this day, sisters tie a rakhi (a sacred thread) around their brothers’ wrists as a symbol of love and protection, and in return, brothers promise to always protect and support their sisters.

It’s a reminder of the strength, care, and joy that family brings — no matter how far apart we may be.
Happy Raksha Bandhan to all who celebrate!

Hard truths every MUA wishes they could tell you:

1. Texture is normal & makeup isn’t going to make it disappear. In fact, it may even emphasize it.
2. Your makeup doesn’t look cakey, it’s your skin. Makeup will only look as good as the canvas underneath it.
3. Quality costs more. So if you want a luxury experience and results, be willing to invest.
4. Bringing people with opinions only makes the process harder for you, not just me. Too many cooks in the glam room = anxiety, confusion, and pressure.

Tag your MUA bestie or share these with clients who need reminders.
