The morning of your wedding should be the time of excitement, anticipation and joy. By prioritizing self care and being mindful, you’ll be better equipped to fully embrace and cherish this special day!
Here are a few tips for my brides on the morning of your wedding from a professional hair and makeup artist:

1. Steam your outfit/saree the night before, we prep your skin for the makeup and hair to last all day so staying away from steam on the day of the event is crucial.
2. Have a separate room only for yourself. Weddings can be very chaotic and your wedding day is the most important day for you in the first place. So please don’t share the same room with your friends or family to remain stress free and for us to complete the glam on time.
3. Wear a nice robe for getting ready shots. It elevates your pictures and serves as a confidence boost.
4. Keep your jewelry and all your essentials aside because you don’t want to be running around in the morning trying to find things.It’s better to have it kept aside so it’s easily accessible
5. Keep your inspo pictures ready for your glam team. Try to pick some photos from the artist’s portfolio based on the model that has features similar to yours (skin tone, hair color, eye color)

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and your makeup plays a huge role in how you look and feel.

So here are 5 things I wish all my brides knew before we get started on the big day:

1.) If you want your foundation to look perfect then you need to focus on skincare in the days leading up to your wedding.

2.) Your bridal makeup, hair & drapery can take at least 3-4 hours and is completely NORMAL. Makeup and hair takes time and cannot be rushed.

3.)Lashes are HIGHLY recommended to elevate the bridal look, even if you want to look natural. We can customize from minimal to dramatic lashes. Whichever makes you comfortable.

4.)Avoid crowding the bridal getting ready room at all costs! I suggest designating someone close to you like your sister/maid of honor to be the messenger. Having people keep coming to you every 10 min is stressful and delays your getting ready process. Your wedding morning is the only time where you’ll get peace & quiet, and trust me you want that during your wedding weekend!

5.)Take in all the advice, but always prioritize your choices in your wedding makeup look. After all, it’s your special day and no one else’s.

I love sharing about South Asian wedding traditions, and the Vidai ceremony is one of the most emotional and beautiful moments. It is a moment when the Bride’s family bids farewell to their daughter as she rides away with her new Husband. Also known as the Bidaai, based on which region is celebrating the ritual, this ritual is one of the most emotional stages of the wedding day for both the Bride and her parents.

After everyone has given the bride their farewell wishes, the father of the bride comes with him and is usually the last person to do so before handing over her daughter to the groom. Then, he asks the groom to always love and care for his daughter, while guiding her in the course of their marital journey.

A moment of both goodbye and new beginnings, reminding us that love knows no boundaries.

After so many weddings here are the 3 things I’d skip on the wedding day (if I could go back!):

💍 Saving the top tier of your wedding cake
I think this is one of the oddest traditions. I don’t know where it got started, but I think it’s something that needs to be stopped. Instead go back to that same bakery on your one year anniversary and have a fresh, delicious cake to celebrate.
💍 Getting Lash Extensions
While they look gorgeous, they can be unpredictable! Opt for a lash lift or trusted falsies for a more stress-free day. Additionally, lashes make doing eye makeup significantly more difficult as the lashed get dusty and are hard to clean completely
💍 Flower Girls Under 8 Getting Their Hair Done
Little ones are adorable, but let them have fun without the fuss. The most fantastic hairstyle will probably be gone within the first 15 minutes so a simple, natural look is all they need to shine!

I share a lot of tips on makeup application, but makeup removal is just as important! We all know good skin starts with a thorough cleanse, but sometimes no matter how thoroughly you scrub and lather up, it seems like you just can’t get all your makeup off.

Here are pro tips to help you get a perfectly bare, makeup-free face:

- Take your time
Apply makeup remover and let it sit for a couple minutes. This will soften mascara, liner, and shadow so it slips off easily and thoroughly once you finally wipe. My favorite makeup remover currently is: Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm

- Make sure to cleanse the edges of your eyelid
Especially if you tight-line your eyes with waterproof liquid, you might need to get in there with a more targeted tool and make sure every last speck is gone.

- Push your hair back and cleanse your hairline
People often accumulate makeup residue around their hairline, which leads to clogged pores and breakouts. Take the two seconds to tie it back or you can slip on a terry headband to ensure you get off every trace of makeup.

Out of all the jewelry pieces that complete a bridal look, nothing elevates the elegance quite like a Nath. But, let’s be real — keeping it perfectly in place can be a challenge on your big day! To avoid any Nath mishaps and ensure it stays flawless from ceremony to celebration, here are a few tips you need to know:

- Most importantly, get a knack of wearing a Nath by trying it on at home soon after you buy it. See if it is comfortable and whether you will be able to carry it or not.
-To avoid getting bothered by your nath on the big day, buy a nath with a flatter press point system instead of the one with a ball design.
Avoid choosing a very heavy nath as it is more likely to keep slipping from your nose. Minimal Nath will be your best pick!
Be gentle with your skin and refrain from pressing the nath again and again in order to keep it in place.

Nobody wants to feel “caked” on their wedding day so here are some of my insider tips to help you out! 🧴Skin prep: Get a hydrating facial the week before, use gel eye masks the morning of and gently exfoliate your skin 2 days prior to the wedding as texture can highlight dryness and cause makeup to grab. 💋Less powder, more blotting: Blot your face with blotting papers to touch up and absorb excess oil. Don’t over powder. 💧Hydrate: Drink plenty of water in the lead up.
