2022 weddings are a WRAP! So many simply lovely people (and doggies!) that I've had the honor of meeting. Some have become - for sure - my lifelong friends. I really should write a book because the stories are just magical, romantic and at times, kooky! But whatever the reasons, I'm always grateful I was chosen to be their Celebrant/Officiant.
In Virginia, Celebrants are an appointment granted by the Chief Justice of the county we live in here in Virgnia; we submit an application with an essay as to why we'd like to do this (in my case, it was why I LOVE to do this!) and 2 thorough references from people attesting to the same. It's not a business (we are not permitted to advertise nor solicit as this is a public service) and our fees are limited to $75 for each wedding. I can say this though; it's intoxicating; each couple brings something special and unique to their most important day and I try to make their time with me memorable. Hundreds and hundreds of couples have come before me and honestly I don't remember one sad face (albeit some sarcasm sometimes!) as they leave on their life's journey.
Some couples are very social-media shy and I always ask before posting on this page because this is for them! That's why you'll sometimes see feet, hands, flowers, etc. and many are left off completely.
