First 35mm film roll developed of 2024! Here’s a few photos from .tickell and wedding in May.

I bought my Pentax K1000 from recently to replace the one I had 20 years ago. Wwhen I rotate the base of the lens to adjust the f/stop causing the light meter to flutter inside the viewfinder, I am transported back to when I first fell in love with photography in my high school Photo 1 class where we learned via film. To this day, developer is one of my favorite smells. I plan on continuing the take some film shots at weddings along side my digital camera and I’m excited to see the results!

Protect Q***r & Trans Youth (and adults)

It has been a scary time in America for my community since 45 took office. Over 200 anti-LGBTQ bills have been enacted across the states since 2016 out of over 650 introduced to Congress. We are fighting for our right to just exist, to have the healthcare we need and deserve, to play sports, to read the books we want to read, and to not fear being discriminated against because of who we love. It’s exhausting and heartbreaking. Through this horrific time I have also witnessed time and time again our resilience as a community and the importance of visibility and using our voices. I am proud to be q***r I’m not going to be quiet about it.

Hi friends! I want to reintroduce my business under the new name: SJ Huffman Photography. I am so excited for this rebrand. It’s been a year in the making and I’m thrilled to finally be able to launch on the first day of PRIDE! 🌈

Over the last year I have been spending a lot of time reflecting. Thinking about the type of clients I want to work with and the type of work I want to do. Since coming out as pansexual 🩷💛💙 just over 6 years ago, priorities and perspectives have shifted. Being q***r is a core part of my identity and in my reflection I realized that I want to primarily serve my fellow rainbow family in my work. My goal is to make all my clients feel seen, heard, and loved when in front of my camera in a world that isn’t always accepting.

So my focus has now shifted to Documentary Wedding Photography and Studio Portraiture. If my mission speaks to you, I hope we can work together in the future to create beautiful art, because you my friend, are a masterpiece. ✨
