His Story
At the age of 10, he heard the earth shattering sounds of Planet Rock. That track alone gave birth to what is now known as DjBlast. Greatly influenced by the sounds of early Hip Hop that came out of the streets of New York City, this Maui boy felt an awakening deep within his soul and knew from that moment on that he was going to be a part of something grand.
His professional career took off at the age of 15 when he started playing for his school banquets, being hired for private events and playing the hottest night clubs on the island of Maui. At 17, he officially created ChillTown Productions, which was an innovating force in the entertainment industry for many years to come. But spinning wasn’t enough, so he created and produced music for those that were looking for a safe place to hone in their craft and love for Hip Hop. Through these endeavors, he was able to educate, introduce the elements, and helped to expand the musical tastes in Hawaii.
DjBlast held many successful club residencies across Maui for decades, including the longest running weekly teen night in the State. He also had an award winning career in radio as both a Dj and a personality. But with all his accomplishments in the industry, he couldn’t shake the desire to be in the place that sparked his musical career, New York. So, in 2018, he decided to bid a fond farewell to Hawaii, and made his move to the city where dreams are made of. Now residing in New York, he continues to pursue his career as a producer, on-air personality and Dj, with the intention to grow internationally.
