The Boyet Almazan - DJ Meme connection:

The saying “Great minds truly meet” is proof of this friendship, fueled by a shared passion for great music. This relationship began back in 2009 when one of Meme’s hits, 'The Sun is Coming Out,' was first played by Boyet at the Opus bar. As you know, when Boyet discovers a song, it's always a guaranteed club hit, showcasing the signature Boyet Alamazan sound. People have loved the song ever since, introducing Manila to the unique sound of DJ MEME.

In 2015, Boyet produced DJ Meme Live in Manila and performed at Manila’s poshest club, Privé. The event was a huge success, making DJ Meme's sound an integral part of Filipinos' love for dance music. When the pandemic hit and everything came to a standstill, the only way DJs could stay relevant was through livestreams. Boyet asked DJ MEME to participate in a livestream on the HOUSEoFDISCO Facebook group, attracting hundreds of viewers and bringing some joy during those difficult days.

This weekend will be something special as DJ Meme travels to Los Angeles to relive the experience and give us a journey we'll never ever forget.

This once-in-a-lifetime event is already happening this Saturday, and yes, we are all excited! Before anything else, we strongly suggest securing your tickets a day before the event. This is to promote a smooth and swift check-in process. Ticketholders will be given a QR code that we scan so you can get your wristbands for entry. There will also be a security check before entry to ensure safety, as we are located atop a high-rise building. Parking is a breeze with a valet service available on the left side of the building.

Who is DJ MEME?

Brazil’s top House music icon and critically acclaimed remixer/producer DJ Meme gained recognition early in his career with remixes for major artists like The Bee Gees, New Order and Pet Shop Boys among others.

In 1996, Meme remixed “Estoy Aqui” for the then newcomer Shakira which exploded on the club scene and became a worldwide hit resulting in a huge demand from major labels for Meme’s ability to inject underground dance rhythms into pop music, as a result Meme went on to produce stunning remixes and albums for major pop acts including Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton, Ricky Martin, Des’ree among many to great acclaim and scooping up no less than 23 Gold Records, 15 Platinum and 3 Diamond records and many awards in the process.

In 2005 Meme turned his hand to his own productions releasing “Viva" on Knee Deep Records, which gained broad DJ support worldwide and even reached the #2 position on DJ MAG Hype Charts, then the saga continued remixing contemporary House anthems including Kenny Bobien’s ‘I Shall Not Be Moved’ (Soulfuric), Groove Junkies ‘Dr Feelgood’ (MoHo) and the massive orchestral dance anthem ‘The Cure & The Cause’ by Fish Go Deep (Defected), not to mention his own DJ Meme Orchestra project with the Disco classics “ANY LOVE” and "LOVE IS YOU".

In 2012, Meme was invited by the “Godfather of House Music” FRANKIE KNUCKLES to join him at the infamous DEF MIX team (known as ‘the royalty of House Music’), along with DJs David Morales and Hector Romero.
