To anyone concerned; I've closed up shop. High Spirits is no longer open for business. This decision came way before CoVi, so nothing to do with that. I am still happy to help friends and their friends with any event ideas and productions...once we can actually get in the same room together, hopefully, without masks. HIGH SPIRITS just wrapped up a splendid birthday party gig! Highlights included lots and lots of mini lights, autumn colored paper lanterns, amazing paella made right on site in huge pans by Patatas Catering of Berkeley. I highly recommend Marcos and his crew!

Excited to visit the Wedding site tomorrow, of friends Marc and Mari, who have hired High Spirits to be Day of Wedding Coordinator! Hooray! Redwood Ridge Estate in the hills of Los Gatos-the former home of Steve Wozniak! Will be lovely, I'm sure!
Summer Event fun is ramping up big time-- starting with the 1st ever Oakland Indie Scavenger Hunt. It's gonna be rad! I gots to get my High Spirits Team together pronto!
Wow, the PIC Oakland Braunch party yesterday was a huge success and really fun. Ale Industries brought some delicious Cherry infused beer, Uptown Juice provided excellent organic juices, Crooked City Cider had two refreshing ciders and the food from Ensarro Ethiopian was fantastic. AND Stroopy Gourmet brought some of their yummy mini waffle cookies and Beula's Bean Truck even brought mocha cookies!! Plus we had the wonderful photos on display, Allen and his beautiful collection of vintage coffee making supplies, Ruth providing amazing arts and crafts section for kids, which was very popular! What else? Live music, coffee provided by Catracha Coffee, direct from Honduras! It was a stellar party and I enjoyed working with Marc and his ILOB to put it together.!
Oh my how time flies! Great news to follow up my previous post.
Networking from that event has recently led to my being contracted to help with production of the Inaugural Gala Fundraiser for Trinity Center, a day home and resource center for folks dealing with poverty and homelessness. High Spirits is glad to be helping out so their mission and work can continue.
I attended the Richmond Main St. Business Bootcamp yesterday and received great information and inspiration from not only the panelists, but other attendees as well. It was a long day spent away from 'other work' but overall, worth it. Now, I will follow up on the great ideas and leads that came up! I look forward to connecting with several people again and moving forward on various projects.

Way overdue to update this page, heh? Especially when I've got something to puff up, namely accomplishment of parts of the B***E conference that I worked on for about 10 months. Over 600 people convened in Oakland and I coordinated bus tours and 3 amazing evening party events. This is a good month to get all my social media updated, wouldn't you agree? wow, I've been so busy....my HIGH SPIRITS page is way out of date! Last night's presentation to demystify social media has spurred me to update more regularly! So...here goes....
I'm happy to say things are real busy with the coordination of evening parties and bus tours connected with the B***E conference that will be in Oakland June 11-13. That's Business Alliance for Local Living Economies, a worldwide network of groups and orgs working to strengthen and help grow local communities with local economic viability. It's been fun and challenging to build a 4 hour bus tour that showcases some of the amazing work on Food Justice that's being done. Another tour is about Makers and Manufacturers.
And now the evening Parties, where we want to bring out the coolest artists, musicians, performers, etc..... to show the world what Oakland and East Bay has nurtured.

Hey everyone. Hope you're in high spirits! It's been a while, but that's because High Spirits has been quite busy since Jan. We've been organizing monthly super interesting and inspiring business mixers for the SBA, held at member locations in Oakland and Berkeley. Along with mixers, I'm putting together useful workshops, such as one on 4/10 about Using Video for Promoting your Business or Org.
There's been lots to do for the Stege Centennial Open House in May. We are excited to report that Supervisor John Gioia has confirmed that he will attend and speak. Other politicos have been invited, but it's too early to tell if they'll make it. The EC Chamber of Commerce is also doing more events, in which I help organize and promote with eblasts.
So, that gives you a little taste of what HS has been up to these 3 months of 2013. It's good to be busy, isn't it? Drop me a line and say hi.
Last Thursday was the Grand Opening of Song Insurance and Financial Solutions coordinated by yours truly, High Spirits! A big balloon tower, ribbon cutting ceremony with enormous scissors, lots of good snacks and a marvelous sheet cake were just a few parts of the entire event Photos to be added soon.
