Happy New Year!
We truly hope that you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! As we look ahead to 2017, we have some pretty big changes and exciting news for us that we want to share with you. We will be closing our retail storefront at the end of January. This was not an easy decision for us. The relationships we have built with many of you mean something to both of us, and we value very much the role that we have played in literally nourishing the stomachs and souls of many of you.
Many years ago when we opened our little storefront, we both felt it was more than "just a business", serving as a connecting point with many who have indeed become much more than customers or employees but genuine friends. We have never taken for granted your input into our products or the fact that you have chosen to purchase food we made when there are endless options in our community.
So....what will we be doing? Rob is going to be working with a non-profit, Clerestory, working to help revitalize and bring hope to the people of Fairfield. He will be helping with the building of a training center that will offer a program from reading to work skills, with the intention of launching people into the work force in the community. It is hard and slow work but Rob has been involved for the past three years in small ways with our friend Pastor Alton Hardy and his church Urban Hope Community Church, leading Rob to the point that he feels called to be involved full time.
Kelly is working on developing a new outlet for some of your What's 4 Supper favorites to be sold in local grocery stores. We are planning to have our Baked Ziti and Brownies for sure but are still working on the complete list. Please let us know what you would like to see out there to purchase! So, we won't be totally absent from the marketplace!
We will be open the month of January, operating as usual. Our last day for retail sales will be Friday, January 27. Please stop by to see us before then! You know Rob would love to talk personally with each of you - and share the vision for his work in Fairfield. We are sad that we won't be able to see each of you weekly in the future - the hardest part of this decision involved not being a weekly part of our dear customers/friends lives. We hope that you know that each of you has had an impact on each of our family and us - we are humbly grateful for the support you have given us over the years!
