When setting up for your special event, we always keep in mind:
⭐ Your expressed desires! It could be something specific you told us or simply staying true to you and yourr overall vibe.
⭐ Best flow for you and your guests- whether that’s game time room layout switch, signage locations, staffing needs, etc
⭐ Visibility- we never want you or your guests to have poor visibility of the stage, screen, main events.
⭐ What makes sense. If you haven’t specifically told us then we do what makes sense based on our experience.

There were so many unique ideas that our couples implemented in their weddings this past year (you guys are so creative).
Some of our favorites were:
⭐ unique desserts - specific to the couple
⭐ pre-ceremony happy hour - the guests were VERY happy about this one
⭐ dance floor props - who doesn’t love foam glow sticks and sunglasses?
The final part of giving your guests directions throughout your wedding day!
Tip #4: Signage, signage, signage. No one likes feeling like they're in the wrong place at the wrong time. If you hire us at 618 Events, we will be on the lookout and reading the room throughout the entire day so nothing will be missed and your guests can enjoy all of the things you've planned!
What a great idea to entertain all of your guests! Dancers or not!
Save this for inspo for your upcoming wedding 😍 and reach out to us if you need a team to help coordinate your big day!
Salt & Light is so near and dear to my heart. I LOVED being a part again in the 2nd annual Praise to Raise fundraiser. After a year of meetings and planning and organizing, it was so cool to worship alongside community members that attend churches all over CU.
Huge thank you to The Vineyard Church of Central Illinois for hosting and Kyle for planning, Chick-fil-A Champaign for the sandwiches for volunteers, @FiveFootProVideo for video mastery, and all the volunteers who made this evening possible!
As your event planner, we strive to keep everything running to plan. To do this, we live by the "5 minute rule" to help everyone feel as prepared as possible throughout the day.
☑️ 5 minutes before toasts start, we find everyone that is going to speak (and tell them don't leave the room 😆)
☑️ 5 minutes before first dances start, we find everyone that will be dancing (and tell them when they're turn to dance will be)
☑️ 5 minutes before cake cutting, we find the photographers and the couple to make sure everyone's prepared (and hungry)
☑️ 5 minutes before the bride & groom sendoff, we help rally your guests to make sure they don't miss the goodbye (and so everyone doesn't miss the pictures/videos)
You get the point 😜
When you hire us, we promise you won't have to think twice about your schedule or if someone is missing from your planned itinerary. Your job is to enjoy your day ❤️
No matter what you need us to do for your wedding/event, there are a few things we always make sure to do so that every detail of your day is perfect ❤️

Part 3 of how you can provide guest direction throughout your wedding day!
Tip #3: Once your guests are seated for the reception, you don't want them confused or lost on what they're supposed to be doing while they're seated. Who will dismiss each table for dinner? When does the DJ start playing the first dance songs? When are the announcements supposed to be made? When do toasts start? The 618 team can ensure your guests are ready when you need them to be ready, so they don't miss anything!
Follow along with me on a day I don’t have childcare. I try to be as present as possible when William’s awake and when he’s napping I decide what’s a priority and what can wait. Being a full time business owner + full time mom is HARD but the BEST. Constantly saying, thank you Lord. I wouldn’t want life any other way! 🥰
Name a worse task to give a guest at your wedding than picking up after the reception… we’ll wait 😜
One of the (major) perks of hiring an Event Coordinator is being able to send your guests home immediately after the reception is over. That means no one has to wait around and pick up trash before heading to their hotels (or the bars).

618 EVENTS takes care to ensure that every “i” is dotted and every “t” is crossed. So you can truly enjoy your wedding and your guests.
Sneak Peak!!! This past weekend, 618 Events was honored to serve and help plan a surprise birthday party for our client’s wife at Orpheum Champaign. This is quite possibly our favorite type of event - social gatherings for you and your friends! ❤️
Planning social gatherings is one of our FAVORITE events! I could have talked 30 minutes on the actual planning process but I’m told to keep reels under 1:30. So what do I actually do to plan??
☑️ Email vendors to inquire if they’re available
☑️ Share the clients vision, specifics what we want them to provide, and budget (sometimes meet in person but mostly all over email)
☑️ Receive quote and share with client for approval
☑️ Once the client approves, they sign contract & pay to officially book that vendor
☑️ Keep vendors in the loop as things update during the planning process
☑️ Keep client updated with planning process and ensure their vision is completely captured

Part 2 of ways you can provide guest direction throughout your wedding day!
Tip #2: During cocktail hour, do you want your guests to sign a guest book? Where are the food and drinks? Do your guests need to walk somewhere else for the reception? This is where a 618 team member can jump in and make sure all of your guests don't feel lost in where to go or what they should be doing!
Running a business and being a mom is lots of work but it’s the absolute BEST! Follow along with Maggie to see what a typical work day looks like! And stay tuned for a day in the life featuring no childcare. :)
Meet our newest 618 Events team member, Jackie Holt!
Jackie loves hosting and throwing parties for her kids and friends: you aced a test? Throwing a party. Your fav tv show has a premiere? Throwing a party. Jackie also enjoys taking care of her chickens and playing board games.
Help us welcome Jackie by saying hello in the comments 👋🏽 👋🏽
You can make all the signs in the world to help your guests, but sometimes a good "old fashioned" person is better at directing your guests. That's where we come in - we crowd control and ensure your guests are never left questioning where they should be, where things are (like the bar, duh), or what's coming next.
We love being able to take care of the details for you during your event, so you can truly enjoy your special day.
