This is awesome. They are thinking about the whole package.

The operator and camera can both be protected from weather by one cover. With the operator under the same rain cover the viewfinder would be visible and unobstructed while the clear apron around the camera allows light so that the operator can find and adjust controls and see the action on the field and react to get the shot. This is all common sense stuff but building it into the cover is useful and critical thinking and design. Tell the boys in R&D to keep up the good work.

This man gave me my first education behind a lens. We worked with 35mm B&W film and paper in a darkroom. Jack Summers taught me the rudiments of exposure, composition and lighting.

A bit before he retired from Grosse Pointe South High I found his email on the school website. I hadn't seen him since I left there in the late 70s. I told him that he wasn't going to believe what I'm doing for a living and that everyday something he taught me is utilized in my day to day work. I'm just now seeing this. Jack Summers passed away in 2019 at the age of 80.

Jack Summers, a beloved art teacher at Grosse Pointe South High School for years and a prominent member of the local art community, died in March. There's a memorial for him Saturday at Detroit's Scarab Club.
