In addition to growing a wide variety of vegetables, raising sheep, chickens for eggs and keeping bees for honey, Ben and his team also offer cooking classes at The Cooking School at Saltbox Farm, cater weddings and other events and parties through their catering company, and own Saltbox Kitchen, a cafe & brewery in West Concord.

We know that between the price of eggs and bird flu egg supplies are tightening. We’re lucky be sourcing eggs from over in Bedford so that we can continue to stick to our mission of supporting local farms. It’s important to us that our community continues to have access to the highest-quality ingredients around.

We’ve received a few DMs recently about renting the restaurant for private events, so we wanted to remind everyone that you can rent SBK for a special occasions. If you’re hosting an event here we close to the public so the entire restaurant is dedicated to you and your guests, and you work with our events team to plan every detail. We have a limited number of dates available in March, and handful available for the spring if you’re looking for a venue!

Happy Valentine’s Day! We have two sold out dinners happening tonight, so our doors are closing at 2:30. Our case is full with dinners, our pastry case is filled with fresh baked goods and our shelves are stocked with wine. Pop in and grab what you need!

Have you met Natalie yet? She’s our incredible sous chef who brought the sweet potato schnitzel to our menu. When she’s not cooking at SBK she’s cooking at home with her family. They love using fresh herbs and cabbage, homemade hot sauces, shrimp or braised pork and lots of avocado to make tacos together. Her 13 year old son has the best palate so he is her home sous chef; he is the master of pancakes and popcorn. Her 3 year old is the family’s trusted saucier, standing right next to chef and making sure all of the dishes are perfectly seasoned, sautéed, and stirred.

SBK wouldn’t be anything without our team and over the next few weeks we’ll be highlight staff who go above and beyond. Stay tuned for more!
