Long post alert….

If you are friends with me on my personal page, you have seen a lot of talk about supporting small business. Not just mine, but ALL.

Recently, I’ve been really reflecting on Zeets, small business, friends in small business, the world, the economy and the effects it has on all of us.

Recently there have been two businesses that have either closed completely or have REALLY downsized. I’ve seen chatter on their pages, comments being made and over heard conversations that make me so sad. One being, “I stopped coming here because I’m going to this place now”…or “I’ve been meaning to stop in”.

If you know me, you know creating my small business was not to make millions. It was so that I could do a job that I was passionate about all while being happy. I took a chance, I stepped out on faith, walking away from a 30 year career in corporate retail. I regret none of it. I’ve become friends with complete strangers from all walks of life. Some of those people have become my best friends and my biggest supporters.

If you aren’t in small business, you really have no idea the effort, the blood, sweat and TEARS that go into making it all happen. There are bumps, bruises and lots of ugly things that go into it all. I’m saying this because we are truly struggling. Again…not just my store but so many small business. I have asked different times on my personal page “if you don’t shop small businesses…why?” And most of the time the answer is, “it’s not convenient”…

What is your reason? Small businesses are the HEART of our communities. We donate to your kids little league teams, we become invested in your families, we do so many more things than big box stores will ever do. And yet more support lies within the walls of those places.

I appreciate each and everyone one that supports us in one way or the other. Whether you share my posts religiously, shop with us, whatever it may be. But I will say this. I’m not sure what Treats by Zeets future is. Because without more support, we won’t be able to hold on as tight as we have been. Please guys…if you love your small businesses…SHOP them…SHARE their posts…TELL your communities about them! THEY NEED YOU!

This is a weekend position that requires both day and night availability. You will be delivering weddings. Our wedding set-up and break-down crews bring everything together! You will be a part of someone's special day, travel to gorgeous wedding venues and create beautiful floral displays. No prior experience required!

Duties:
- Load floral arrangements and event rentals into delivery vans
- Transport wedding flowers and rentals to the venue, unload, and set-up arrangements
- Return to venue at the conclusion of the event to retrieve rental items and left-over florals
- Empty, clean, and return rental vans

Qualifications:
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Weekend availability Friday - Sunday
- Both day and night availability is strongly preferred, availability during only one or the other accepted.
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive our delivery vans
- Ability to work outdoors in physically strenuous situations
- Positive attitude and ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment

Hours: 10 - 15 hours per week (sometimes much more other times less)
Pay: $25 per hour for day shift
Night shift: $100 flat for event strike (typically 1-2 hours)

Floral Designers:
We are seeking a creative and talented Floral Designer to join our team!

Duties:
- Design and create various floral arrangements.
- Assist customers in selecting the perfect floral arrangements for their needs
- Maintain inventory of flowers, plants, and supplies
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems for transactions
- Answer phones and take orders

Qualifications:

- Must be an experienced floral designer! Please provide a portfolio of your previous work upon application*, you will be asked to design a sample in-store at interview.
- Weekend availability is a MUST, that is when the magic happens! Being available every weekend is not required, but we will need extra staff on a few weekends throughout wedding season.
- Positive work attitude and willingness to experience new things. We work at a lot of different places with lots of different people, no two shifts are alike!
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive our delivery vans.
- Strong customer service skills to interact effectively with clients
- Familiarity with POS systems for processing transactions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

- *Formal portfolio is not required, photos of your past work in any format are fine.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Seasonal

Pay: $20.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 30 per week

-No floral design experience required!
-Shop Clerk and Design Assistant duties will often overlap, we are all a team!
-Hours are part-time seasonal
