Our deepest sympathies to the Swanson family. I have many memories of Rick, from childhood at the farm, to the house up the hill and into adulthood. May he rest easy.

Richard Charles Rick Swanson, age 69, of Genoa, died Monday, December 30, 2024, at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha. Funeral services are 1000 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2024, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Genoa. Visitation is Friday from 500-700 p.m. at the church. Visitation will continue from 900-1000...

The Freezer Meal order form is now closed. Please click on the link below to order.
Pickup is scheduled for Thursday, December 12, from 5-6:30 PM at 116 N Oak in Genoa, located behind Grains Grocery Store in our pickup cabin. This will be the last freezer meal order and the final day I will be at the cabin for the year, likely until February, so be sure to place your freezer meal gift orders! This is also the time to purchase gift certificates as well as pan pickup!

One of my favorite gadgets that I actually use all the time! Making potato and chicken noodle soup today! I’ll also use the smaller dicing blade for all the onions, carrots and celery. I’m not even sure if it’s actual name, we call it the crocodile chopper!

🎄I’ve had some requests for purchase of the pans that are on the giveaway post so posting here for a short time. (some may remember these from a few years ago) Pans and lids are sold separately. You can order as many or as few as you wish. Both sizes have 1” sides. Large is perfect for sheet cakes, bar recipes, scotcharoos etc. we have one we use for bacon and this is what I use to make my dinner rolls. The small we use all the time for dinner for the 2 of us. Sheet pan meals, pork chops, chicken breast, roasted veggies, totinos pizzas, one box of brownie mix etc.
Make great gifts too.

I will take orders until Tuesday Dec 10 (one week) and pans will be available for pickup in Genoa Thursday Dec 12th from 5-6:30 or per arrangements. Comment or message to order!

Pans MUST be picked up and paid for if ordered.

As I reflect on the support this business has received, I am filled with gratitude. The opportunity to provide meals for many individuals this holiday has been a privilege, and the kind words from our customers continue to inspire me. I am touched by the feedback from people who have appreciated our meals during difficult times, such as when a family member is receiving chemotherapy or recovering from surgery or illness. I love when we can assist individuals who struggle with cooking due to age, injury, health or simply time. To all of our customers who have supported our business by ordering meals, for any reason, or no reason at all, I offer my sincerest appreciation. ❤️ Happy Thanksgiving to you all. There’s always something to be grateful for!

🦃 252 pounds of turkey, 210 pounds of ham, 149.5 pounds of apples, 25 gallons of green beans, 288 pounds of mashed potatoes, 18 gallons turkey gravy, i lost track of the stuffing 🫢 , 576 dinner rolls, so so much butter, many seasonings, cornstarch, sugar, oatmeal and more!! This is what it took to put Thanksgiving dinner on at least 48 tables this year!! Thank you, thank you to Ethan, Jenna and Tim for their help and THANK YOU to all of you who trusted us to help with your holiday celebrations!! 🦃

Hey all! It looks like I’ll have enough product remaining for one family sized (to serve SIX) dinner.
It’s up for grabs for $90 or if there is a family in the area that’s truly in need please send me a private message.
Don’t forget about the community thanksgiving meal available at the Sr Center in Genoa also. Free will donation. Mary and crew put in a lot of work to put on a great feast!
