Death Valley National Park is perfect for adventurous couples who want to explore the park’s different landscapes. The park straddles the Amargosa and Panamint mountain ranges and the valleys between them. Elevation ranges from an impressive 12,000+ feet at Jubilee Pass, and down to -282 feet below sea level at Badwater Basin salt flats.

Ask yourselves, what are the parts of the day you’re most excited about? Could it be sharing breakfast together? Seeing each for the first time in your wedding clothes? Walking down the aisle? (In whatever form the aisle takes) Spending the day with close family and friends?

🏞️ Pick A Stunning Location That Speaks To You
If it’s adventure you’re going for, choose a wedding venue with its own natural beauty. Ski resorts and back-country lodges are great choices, especially if they have access to mountain hiking trails.

Adventure elopements are all about the meaningful details. There are NO rules! You could ski or snowboard to your ceremony, or even canoe/kayak!

At Range Of Light Wed we noticed that something was missing from our local wedding industry so we created a full-service and experience!

Collectively we have years of experience in the wedding industry, and we can bring “the wedding” right to the top of a mountain (or lake, river, dune, or meadow).

We’ve seen all sides of the big wedding day, and it’s not for everyone. Many intentionally seek out our hometown to commit their lives to each other (which borders Yosemite, and sits at the snow line of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range). As locals, we know we can add ease, preparedness, adventure, and beauty to your day with our personal love and familiarity with this region.

Our elopement and small wedding packages include all of the essentials (plus some luxury too). Your elopement can be as low-key or as adventurous as you can dream up.

When Should You Elope In Death Valley?
We recommend visiting after Thanksgiving, but before Christmas (that late November/early December sweet spot). This is when Death Valley National Park experiences the least amount of visitors. Plus, the weather is absolutely amazing!

While winter might bring a few extra “challenges,” there is just something magical about a winter elopement. You’ll need to be more prepared, but one thing is for sure: you’ll have an adventure-filled experience.

The Sonora Pass is a staggering 9,624 feet above sea level, and makes a fantastic elopement destination. Also known as California Highway 108, crosses Sonora Pass on the second highest mountain highway in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

You’ll want to travel this beautiful, narrow and winding road to see some of the most spectacular views and get to your elopement destination. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, we think nature makes the best cathedrals.

To get to this one we had to squeeze through on our hands and knees, with light stands in tow. But we were greeted with a chamber and the perfect beam of light. We played around in it, stirring up dust, and using Andrew’s white shirt as a human reflector. Eventually, the sun’s angle was too low and it disappeared completely. It made it even more special.
