Here are a few words from the president of the San Diego Brewers Guild...welcoming in this year's Beer Week festival in November and reminding us of how far the beer industry in San Diego has come.....

As the Guild turns twenty, we can reflect on the great progress of our industry and our brewing community. We have come leaps and bounds from the days when early breweries worked to convince leary patrons that the non-fizzy-yellow-beer in the pint set before them “wasn’t bad.” Over that pint, our industry began to celebrate good beer — San Diego beer — with an enthusiastic public. As time passed, that pint became a keg, that keg became an event, that event became a festival, and that festival has become an annual ten-day celebration that draws thousands from all over the world to our local tasting rooms.
In three weeks, the Guild hosts our ninth San Diego Beer Week. It's ten days of special releases, food pairings, meet the brewer nights, and the other creative events that tell your stories, share your passions, and celebrate your interpretations of our craft. We can’t wait to kick it off with you at Guild Fest on November 3rd and 4th.
