About Dave...

Hi. I’m Dave, and I believe its gotta sound good to be good and if you can’t see them, there’s a problem.

To the good residents of Craig County, VA, my name is David Givens. I stumbled into the sound technology world at the age of..say 12..when I was given the task of recording sermons at church. That evolved into learning the basics of balancing microphones and knowing where to plug things in. The Spirit moved me to pick up the bass guitar my freshmen year of high school, propelling me into contemporary Christian music (and there fore the gear involved) as worshiper, musician, and soon after, as technician. I then was blessed with with an incredible college experience at Christopher Newport University (2007-2011) where I spent countless hours volunteering as sound tech and musician with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship. We loaded in and out everything needed by a 7-piece worship band except the stage and main speakers nearly every Thursday of the school year. Mixing the sound of the worship team through the sound board became a passion. I strove to bring out of the speakers the kind of sound that I would want to hear as crowd member and musician as well as the intended sound from each musician or vocalist. In my upper classmen years I moved into other aspects of our large group event such as projection, lighting, print publications, and general event logistics.

Upon my return to Craig County I found several places to serve. I have helped with musical theater endeavors of the music program at Craig County Public Schools for several years along with audio and lighting needs of the New Castle School of Dance, the Town of New Castle, Club Camp Mitchel, the Craig County Business Association’s Prepper Fest, and the Annual Jesse Carper Memorial & Benefit Concert at the Roanoke Moose Lodge. Along with having done birthdays, .I would like to offer time, skills, and gear to provide for your audio, lighting, and event needs! I believe it must sound good to good, and if you can’t see some one on stage...there’s a problem. Give me a call or email to talk about when, where, and how much. You can see way more than here on my website listed on this page.
