Our Story
Teresa’s Bridal, all started with my son, Jason. When he was 17 he came to me and said “Mom, the women in the middle east got a bad shake and I’m going to go help them out and I’m going to be right in the middle of it.” He finished high school 6 months early so he could join the Army when he turned 18. He signed up with the 82nd Airborne Infantry. It wasn’t long before he joined the Rapid Response Team. He was promoted to Sergeant of that unit the month he turned 21. Jason was in the Army for 5 years, was wounded 3 times and came home with Bronze Star with Valor, a Purple Heart and many commendations. After he was discharged, he went to college and received a good education. Along the way he met a wonderful girl, whom he eventually married.
I understand the cost of everything has gone up. It always does, the venue, flowers etc... anyway...I just think couples should have a great wedding and an important part of that is the gown. It is after all 'her day'. and that is as it should be. However, the bride should have a gown that makes her look and feel beautiful without breaking the bank. Anyway, my daughter in law, found a wedding dress she just had to have. It was $4,000. They hadn’t planned on spending that much for a dress, but she had to have it. So, they were married on a Saturday and Jason went back to work on Monday. They didn’t get a honeymoon and I thought that was just so wrong.
A dress shouldn’t cost more than $500 and that should include everything or most everything. So, I put together Teresa’s Bridal. I have dresses sized 2-30, priced $75-$500. Every dress comes with a veil, set of jewelry for the bride, a headpiece, earrings for everyone, the whole bridal party, moms, grandmoms etc. a garter, something for the flower girls hair and any hair decorations the bride might need. This is all included in the price of the dress. There are a couple of things I charge extra for because not all brides want or need them, jeweled belts, bridal robe, hoop skirts for under the dress, and they can upgrade their veil if they want, though most brides find what they want in the free veils. I charge $15-$50 for these, depending on what the bride chooses.
Teresa’s Bridal donates to Wounded Warriors. This is an organization and a cause that is very close to my heart. Our son and son-in-law both served in Iraq and Afghanistan. I have met a lot of our soldiers and I am so very proud of each and every one of them. For all of those who have served, you have our gratitude. For all of those who need the services of Wounded Warriors we are proud to support you.
