ABOUT US

Their name Shadetree BBQ was thought of by their pit master Donnie Ogletree as a play on his family name, his love for Lynyrd Skynyrd (their first demos were recorded with Shade Tree Records) as well as his propensity to cook backyard BBQ under his shady oak tree.

Before opening their first restaurant, Shadetree BBQ was first a food truck, they would travel the state of Georgia participating in festivals, including the Strawberry Festival, the Daisy Festival, Dairy Festival, Kitchens Road Festival, Fall Line Festival, and the Macon Soap Box Derby, just to name a few. While gathering a following and always selling out of their stock, festival goers were constantly asking Shadetree if they owned a restaurant. They decided to take the chance and open in a small previous owned BBQ space in Milledgeville, Georgia on June 15th, 2018.

Shadetree BBQ is a family owned, family run operation located in Milledgeville, Georgia. Shadetree uses generations old family recipes and cooking methods in everything they do. From slow smoking their meats using, hickory and pecan to great grandma’s coleslaw recipe. All menu items are made from scratch daily to ensure their customers are receiving the freshest quality food. Shadetree is proud to be veteran owned and wants to share their appreciation to all military and first responder families by having a standing 10% discount of their meals to them and their families.
