RIP James Earl Jones. A voice for the ages and a kind and gentle man. In the 90's SRO Productions hired him to speak at University of Tulsa for MLK Day. While sitting with him in the green room, my wife and young daughter, Tina, had been directed to that room. I didn't know what to say at first since this was "his room!" Before I could react, he quickly invited them to come over and he introduced himself to them. Here was the voice of Darth Vader being so humble and gracious. Definitely a moment in this business I'll never forget. Thank you for sharing your many talents to the world James Earl Jones!

Look at all the Tulsa talent in this room! Other than the "suits" on both ends of the back row, (Danny Williams of Natural Resources Conservancy back left - project visionist, and myself on right), theses are the featured artists from the recording session last May at The Church Studio. Photo is from last Thursday night (9/5) when the mixed tracks were presented to an exclusive audience for the first time. In total 28 Tulsa musicians recorded and helped make this simply amazing. Slated for release in many forms in early November, "A Gift For Tulsa" is truly a gift from Natural Resources Conservancy. Their vision and contribution allowed this recording to be made at the highest levels. Walked into The Church Studio this morning to this great season's greetings for the beginning of our recording of a holiday music album for the National Resources Conservancy. It took this for me to realize that Leon spelt backwards spells Noel. Thanks for the vibe Leon (and Church crew)! Set for release in November 2024, it features an array of great Tulsa-connected vocalists and musicians. Producer Michael Bluestein, featuring (in session order): Rachael Ferrera, Grady Nichols, Denise Hoey Music, Nick Mancini, Tony Mason, Majaste Pearson, Weston Horn, Jenny Labow, Annie Ellicott, Branjae, Tina Blue, Ayngel McNall. "House Band" includes Bluestein, Jordan Hedl, David Bowen and Wille Peterson.

A Tulsa Treasure returns to a long time Tulsa Tradition. ANNIE ELLICOTT will have last played the Summer's Fifth Night stage 4711 days ago when she and the Lucky 7 perform this Thursday (July 7) at Utica Square (7-9pm). After years of fears that Tulsa would lose this icon to another state and despite her lofty continuing global shows with actor Jeff Goldblum and his Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, she is all ours this week. No need to sell the kids, this is a free show thanks to the Utica Square Merchants Association who will be providing FAN MISTERS in the seating section.
