I'd like to take a minute and introduce myself and tell you about how this all began. I am Melissa the lead stylist, designer, and owner of Epic Party Design, LLC. We're proud and honored to be in our 3rd year of business and running strong.

In high school, I was active in music clubs and organized fundraisers and trips for 150+ students. But this all really began after my best friend asked me to decorate her baby shower as "Under The Sea" and it just blew up from there. Then I started taking on more events which expanded to co-workers and friends of friends, leading into my first corporate event. I worked for 4 years planning private & public events with over 200 guests at times for a senior living facility. We did events ranging from holiday parties, public invited craft fair with over 35 vendors, & private functions. For the next 3 years, I was apart of a committee which planned and organized 5k fundraisers. I created radio adcertisements and toy drives benefiting our foster youth as a Youth Development Social Worker for a California foster family agency. Then in the beginning of 2018 we adopted our son. While in that same year we got pregnant for the first time and then a disaster happened.

At 14 weeks pregnant, our family was forced to suddenly evaluate from Californias most deadliest wildfire called the Campfire that wiped the entire town of pulga, the city of Paradise, and lower half of Magalia off the map. Ultimately, due to PTSD, I decided we we're never returning back to our home. The experience left me struggling to find a new sense of normalcy and due to the stress, i delt with severe complications during the remainder of my pregnancy.

30 days before I was due, I spent 4 days in induced labor, I gave birth to our healthy baby girl. The depression I'd gone through hit me hard and left me numb and empty. It was suggested that I take on a project. Something I enjoyed like event decorating. Being a part of something collaborative and find myself again. I decided I was just going to dive in head first.

I went through many business names in search for the right "fit". After all, this company name was being held to a certain standard for me. Then i came up with Epic. The name stands for:
E - Elaborate
P - Parties
I - Informal
C - Celebrations

I wanted the logo to be bright & vibrant, colorful, happy, and easily recognizable. What better then a watercolor rainbow of colors as a background.

So finally in May of 2021, I applied for my business license and have been running ever since. This company has a very special meaning to me and gave me an identity through a very tough time in my life. I wanted it to available to a wide range of clientele. To be a fit for big or small budgets, to offer a variety of options, and to be flexible to the needs of my clients. Working in the event industy has been such a whirlwind and an invigorating experience.

What brings me the most joy, is seeing the smile my work brings to my clients faces. Because, after all, i know the value of a smile on the most stressful of days.

Transformed the Athol Community Center for Bestowing the Basics thank you dinner for 90 guests. If you havent heard of Bestowing The Basics, they are a non-profit that provides some wonderful services for our local community. Be sure to check them out!

Great sign on the stage from Card My Yard Coeur D Alene, ID was a great focal point. Base table linens donated from Lake City Equipment & Event Rental.

Dates for 2024 are filling fast!!! Due the high volume of bookings so early in the year, and were only able to accommodate a few events a weekend, we're encouraging clients to request a quote sooner then later.
