Every year, like clockwork, these little vampires descend on my sunflowers, piercing their stems and sucking the life out of them. The damage is brutal—petals shriveled, heads drooping, wasps moving in for the kill. And this year? It’s the worst I’ve ever seen. 🤯

So, I had to make a choice: Let my sunflowers be destroyed or go to battle. And battle, my friends, is exactly what I did. 🥷💥

I pulled out the big guns—a strategic mix of systemic and contact insecticides—and went full defense mode. The results? 🌻 No more stink bug takeover. 🌻 My flowers are thriving. 🌻 And I might actually survive this season.

Let me tell you, if you’ve got a greenhouse or hoop house, don’t be lazy when it comes to snow on the roof. ❄️ Clear it off while it’s still light and fluffy, and you’re in the clear. But once it turns to slush or gets weighed down with rain, you’re in for a headache! 😬

It’s way easier to deal with it now than waiting for it to pile up and stress your structure. 🌿💪

Get some chickens in your garden! 🐓 Last spring, our chicks were following us everywhere, and now they’re full-time hoop house workers! These girls are the sweetest companions—eating seeds, snacking on bugs, and fertilizing the soil, all while prepping the hoop house for planting in just a few weeks. Plus, let’s not forget the fresh daily eggs! 🥚🌸

We make sure to keep them safe and sound by adding chicken wire to the sides. It protects the plastic and keeps predators out, so our girls can keep doing their magic worry-free.

Who says you need to break the bank to grow something beautiful?

We’ve been in this business long enough to know that creativity is often your best tool. One of our most-used greenhouses? It started as a simple carport! We built a wooden frame around the metal, added some plastic, set up heaters, and voilà—a cozy home for our little seedlings.

It’s proof that you don’t need fancy setups to get started. It’s all about working with what you have, making it your own, and growing something amazing. Those tiny seedlings are now the heart and soul of our farm. ❤️
