Have an idea or session request? I love friends old and new ❤️ I document family, nature, and storytelling. Adventure is more fun when I bring a camera along. The camera goes (almost) everywhere with me. I photograph a small number of sessions, weddings, and events. This allows me to dedicate time to each family and event. My idea of success is working with folks that have similar values. Those va

lues include curiosity and a sense of adventure. With appreciation for laughter :)

I believe in quality over quantity. I want to make art, celebrate life, and connect with people who become friends. Before anything else, I consult with you to be sure that I am the best person for your vision. Every session includes an online gallery with tutorials, ongoing support after delivering images, album design, and more. I won awards from Artist World Magazine and others, including a Blue Ribbon for Professional Photography at the Nevada County Fair. My images have appeared on HGTV, The Celebration Society, Buzzfeed, the Skin Wars Show, and more. Lenka is a contributing artist to Cavan Images. Fair week! What's your favorite part of County Fair at the Nevada County Fairgrounds? For me,honestly, I love people-watching. Anyone with me? The charming moments between animals and people are my favorite. If I take photos, I always chat with new friends and send them photography files. So many little moments happen at the fairgrounds that may or may not become epic memories. Watching them happen, the fun interactions, is my favorite.

P.S. And I never post without asking permission, unless it's a crowd

Mermaids know that rivers can be dangerous! 🌊✨ During July and August, the current calms and the snowmelt fades away, revealing the river's serene beauty. This time of year, however, it's a surging danger. Let's stay aware of water conditions everywhere! Heat can be misleading, because the water is sooo tempting. However, currents can be powerful. 🌊 Let's respect nature's majesty, as every year the river inspires us and also brings the saddest losses. I never ever not miss you. All the photos in the world cannot replace you, yet I appreciate each and every image that I can find. The bloopers. The blurry ones. The way you looked away at the last minute 😂 Take the photo. Because time, not even one second of time, can be wound back.

Chewie was two months into a diabetes diagnosis when he had a pancreatic emergency. We did everything we could. But sometimes, everything is not enough. He will forever be the kidhood dog, the family dog, the pandemic and cancer journey dog. It’s always too soon with pets. Still, the suddenness of his passing was a shock.

We know you're still here as a spirit-dog, and we know you will find us again. But, oh, how the house feels quiet. No one pushes me to go to bed, already.

Speaking of, I better do that. Sending all of you good daydreams and sleepy dreams. Hug your furry friends from me 🥰

Ever walk into a store and just want to bottle up the whole vibe? The soft light, the cozy beauty, the way the everyday feels enchanted?

As a photographer and artist, I carry my vision everywhere, even when I’m just running errands, even when I can’t afford a single thing in the stores that draw me in like spells. Anthropologie feels like curated dreamworld, lit in soft tones and layered in textures that feels like tumbling into another wonderland.

This photo? Taken on my trusty iPhone XR, the one that’s been with me through so many small, quiet moments of wonder. And this day that I took the photo? I wandered while waiting for my mobile appointment. I finally qualified to upgrade to the iPhone 16. ✨ I’m already dreaming in frames and tones, excited to explore again with new tools in hand.

Inspiration is everywhere. And when the world feels heavy, light still streams into windows. Reminds me to keep looking, keep noticing, keep creating.

This isn’t a collab or sponsored in any way. Just a love note to beautiful spaces, and the joy of seeing the world through an artist’s eyes no matter the gear, no matter the day.

Anyone else got a case of spring fever? These warm days are inspiring us to get outside and play. Throwback photo of one of our favorite spring hikes, Buttermilk Bend, on the South Yuba River. Warmer days make me dream of warmer adventures. They will be here soon✨ Photos like this are a lot of watching, being ready, and when the spacing happens, I'm paying attention. And the bird is a bonus. Though my littles won't be this little again. The value of our image archives is priceless. I love summer adventures!

I fall down rabbit holes of nostalgia when I look for photos to share. One photo leads to another that leads to a series, and then I'm holding a string of memories like pearls. Nowadays, I also notice my photography quests. What inspired my artistic eye? Here, the pop of color. And then smaller things, his orange water bottle, his baseball hat that he wore daily. All things that hardly mattered yet connect as meaningful details now. Allow yourself not to micromanage every image. Let the "junk" stay on the table, let kids hold things, show the everyday trinkets. Those ordinary things become fascinating as time passes. And, oof, I don't have an answer for my rabbit holes of nostalgia. But it makes sharing with you a lengthy project 😂 I knew that my mobility would fade, and the kids wouldn't be kids forever, so I appreciate my extensive library. I have no shortage of images to explore!

Today is National Motivation and Inspiration Day! May your motivations be joyfully your own. We visited Death Valley years ago. And we had an idea. What would it look like to babysit Grogu, for a week or so? I believe we got the idea when we saw a realistic little Grogu. Anika has a lightsaber (of course). And what landscape looks more other-worldly than Death Valley? We had great times creating these stories as we took photos. And I value Archipelago Presets for their monthly Quest program, where I can make images look like distant snapshots. We had fun. And isn't that what motivation and inspiration is all about? Chase joy, friends ❤️

Happy New Year! May this year bring light, color, and adventure to you and your family and friends. I know years bring change. I hope that we all travel safely. Do you choose a word of the year? I have an idea, but it's not my for-sure choice yet. I am feeling more creative and willing to share these days, which feels like fresh air and a mountain sunrise. I hope to keep sharing images from times when I could travel more and adventure more. It's okay, we move differently, and we can inspire one another through all the journeys. Happy new trails to us all ❤️

What would you say to your younger self? Here’s me, New Years 2016 with a fluffy Chewbacca. What would I say to her? I wouldn’t share details, actually. I’d tell her that she’s so loved, strong, resilient, and scrappy. That this little dog is going to be there, he’s going to learn to alert to anxiety spirals, dissociative spells, and exhaustion. I wouldn’t say anything about the pandemic or cancer. I’d say, “I’m here for you. Yes, major challenges. But also, major joys. You two are my heroes.” What about you? Would you tell your past self details? Or feelings? I know she’s going to walk through fire. Heck, still walking through fire. And it’s all worth it.

Also, side note, New Year’s photobooths are epic. I put a camera on a tripod and either set it to 5 seconds, so people could press the shutter and get in front of the camera. Or, later, a remote trigger. The best collections through the years!
