Even in warm seasons, her coziness inspires me. She wears all knitted clothing, from her curly hat to her textured skirt. I imagine the forest on a cool early morning, light cresting through the trees, her path scented with pine needles, dew heavy on flower petals. She's cute 🩵AI is amusing. In this case, the original image showed the arms in front of her wings. I thought that selecting that part of the sweater and replacing it with a wing would be easy-peasy. Ah, no, AI is tricksy. The first try included "match fairy wing". Whelp, it got the match 😂. I know AI doesn't interpret images the way we process information., "Fairy wing" might be gobblygook. I tried "Fix hair" at the border between the hair and the new wing. Very well done with the tiny comb! The comb will fix her hair, I'm sure. AI prompts require creative thinking for finished images. The prompts must be so literal and also super needy of details. I prevailed, and I love this lovely knitted imaginary Forest Fairy inspired by . The original is the last of this series. March rains lead to Roses-by-any-other-names…? Uh, it’s a work in progress. But raindrops on roses are one of my favorite things (real)(true). And I can feel that hint on spring in this rainstorm. Soon, roses, soon. And tap for full image and B&W, because I love how color writes stories, and how black and white writes poems (for me).

Wonderful memories of this adventure. I was mentoring a talented high school photographer. My daughter joined us for the fun. Visited the Firehouse Museum afterwards. My mermaid swam off to deeper seas at UC Santa Cruz this month. So proud of all that she's managed to create and become through the past challenging years. Our time together to may look different now, but she will always be my muse and favorite mermaid in the ocean. And her living by the sea inspires us! We would love another tail with mighty flukes and artistic color. Just putting that into the universe, in case anyone is looking for a seaside mermaid/photographer pair to create timeless content. I think this photo is 5(?) years old. Memories, and showcase-worthy images, last long past the moment. And we treasure this visit to Inn Town Campground pool. With drone images! Draft horses are at the fairgrounds, hurrah! With the California Cowgirls Rodeo Drill Team

We're excited to see the California Cowgirls Rodeo Drill Team again at this evening's performance. It's sure to be a high-energy, exhilarating show.

The grounds open today at 3:00pm for the Harvest Fair which includes kid's activities, exhibits, art of the classic, vendors, and food!

Parking is $10, but entry to the grounds is free. We'll see you at 3!

Their complicated routines with horses running full speed around the area are a favorite with the audience, too. The team puts in many hours of practice to make epic performances. The arena didn’t expect me, so they were a little hesitant to let me in (which is fine, they were doing their jobs). I had all of ten minutes to document the feel of monster truck arena event. While photographing the stands, she walked in front of me with this perfect smile, sharing the vibe of the arena- excitement and cheering and roaring engines. Photographing events is fantastic fun. True to my word, I left after ten minutes. Super grateful for her spontaneity and positivity. I love Nevada County! Currently finding a way to send this photo to her- of course her family recognizes the photo. I want folks to have a digital of moments I photograph for their family archives, free of charge. Family history is important alongside community history. Cheers to good times with good people!

Happy National Dog Day from a few of the dogs that visited us for photos at AnimalSave's Furry Furry Fest over the summer. I love volunteering to take these portraits. The owners support the rescue with donations, and I have 10 minutes or less to make portraits. My personal goal is to show their personalities, from serious to playful, shy to hyper. Every dog is a wonder. Happy day to all the dogs. Give your dog a pat or treat from me 🐶

Favorite fond memories at The Children's Festival? I can't possibly choose myself. The lemon and peppermint, the cardboard castle everyone paints through the day, the troll bridge? I love it all. Happy birthday to Independence (and me). The Famous Marching Presidents is a local organization that features in the Constitution Day Parade. It's not just about the parade, though – behind the scenes, the group enjoys a fun and lively atmosphere. Members share jokes and laughter, adding to the overall sense of camaraderie. The history of the United States is complex and contains dark chapters, but many of us are working towards a better union, believing in our better selves, and working towards a brighter future where love wins. The poetry of sky and clouds and forest inspired me almost daily for a year. Watching what had happened above us while we made dinner, played Star Wars monopoly, or read 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘕𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘊𝘪𝘳𝘤𝘶𝘴, amazed me every time. It was time. Passing beautifully. I couldn’t continue while in treatment, but it’s a comfort, knowing that all this art continues above, doing its thing, regardless of whether we pay attention. Time passes. Beautifully.

Summer dreams high above the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. We pause to notice the caveman that must have traveled overhead thousands of times. Those small family moments, noticing a specific tree or landmark, yelling “Cow!“ when you see a cow on the side of the road, honking through tunnels, or tossing a coin in fountains, they're all wonderful. And they seem ordinary. But they can change quickly. Which is fine. But I try to take a photo when I remember, because the routine may change in the future. And unlocking that string of ordinary moments, that's a gift for the future. This photo needed a retro feel for me. May the caveman see many thousands more trips around the sky-loop :)
