“Liz” Elizabeth Ann Hopkins Greer Taylor

Liz was born June 28, 1944, in Shreveport to Aubrey Lee Hopkins and Marjorie Troquille and went to her heavenly resting place on August 4, 2024, surrounded by family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Wesley Greer, Teresa Nicholson and husband James, and GW Taylor and wife Paula. Her grandchildren who all called her “Nana”- Kristina Greer, Candice Pearson, Brook Greer Allen, Garrett Greer, Hannah Greer, and Adisun Taylor. Her great grandchildren Alexis Greer and Aurora Philmore.
After graduating from Bryd High School she married and started a family. Liz loved her children and believed that family comes first. Liz lived life with passion and was known to be Bold and Sassy and Speak Her Mind. Liz made a career in the hospitality industry and served others for many years.
Liz loved to travel and to eat a good meal and share a laugh with family and friends. She struggled with heart disease most of her adult life and still lived to celebrate her 80th Birthday.
A Memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 2pm at Ramsey Funeral Home at 5600 Williams Dr. in Georgetown, TX.
In lieu of flowers please consider a Donation in her honor to the American Heart Association.

From the Las Vegas Review Journal---Some observers think closure of the Tropicana, and temporary closure of the Mirage as it transforms into a Hard Rock property, will boost the fortunes of other Las Vegas resorts and possibly bleed over into increased bookings at smaller hotels, but the impact is likely to be limited and temporary in a hotel market the size of Sin City's. Zach Demuth, global head of hotels research for JLL Hotels and Hospitality Group, said the change might spur big hotel companies like Marriott, Hyatt and IHG to re-evaluate their Vegas strategy and seek new brand deals.

In the news today: Tropicana to fall as MLB stadium rises in Las Vegas. For nearly 67 years, the Tropicana has been a fixture on the Las Vegas Strip, but that will come to an end with demolition to make way for a $1.5 billion Major League Baseball stadium. Rio Yamat reviews the history of the famed venue, once known as the "Tiffany of the Strip" and marked by top-notch celebrities and mob connections. The closing date will be April 2, 2024.
