The Duck Dash is approaching fast, and early registration ends on August 10th. Timing will be provided by We Run Events. All proceeds will go to The Mattie J CPR Foundation to continue providing free lifesaving CPR and first aid training for the community. We also need some helpful individuals along the course. To help you get through the 8K at your goal pace, or to just help you set a reasonable pace, we strongly suggest you follow the groups. They will be wearing these bright yellow singlets with the Big 8 man on the front and PACER on the back. Look for them on the starting line holding a tall stick with their pace (m/mile) on the sign. We are running a special on the post race pancake breakfast until Wednesday night. Only $8 (Crazy $8) for the breakfast (normally $13) when you register for the race, so you might want to go ahead and register now, and sign up for the breakfast. The pancake breakfast also includes eggs, bacon, water, and Gatorade, served by the Knights Of Columbus at Saint Dominic Catholic School, which is just a few blocks from the stadium. If you've already registered, but want to add the breakfast, I think you can go into your Athlinks profile and add it.

Record turnout of 411 entries in the Downtown Elizabethton Firefly 5K Run/Walk. Storms passed through earlier in the day and the evening was nice for the race.

Rain and storms are in the forecast this afternoon and early evening. As of now, the Downtown Elizabethton Firefly 5K Run Walk is still on, but please keep an eye on the weather. The event will be run rain or shine, but if there is lightning in the area, the event may be delayed. Any decision on delaying will be deferred to local authorities, and will be based on the safety of participants and volunteers.

Mattie J's favorite toys were his rubber ducks. To celebrate what would have been his 3rd birthday, Mattie J CPR will be holding a fundraising 5K in downtown Greeneville, TN on Saturday August 24, 2024. Registration is only $40 and everyone who registers prior to August 1st will be guaranteed to receive a Duck Dash t-shirt. Timing will be provided by We Run Events. All proceeds will go to The Mattie J CPR Foundation to continue providing free lifesaving CPR and first aid training for the community. We also need plenty of volunteers! 5K's require a lot of extra helpful individuals along the course. Woke up in Spruce Pine, NC early this morning, timed a race in Bakersville, NC, sent another crew to time a race in Erwin, TN, drove home to Bristol, TN where Natalie had the car loaded for vacation, traveled to Greensboro, NC for a short visit with my sister, hit the road again and saw a rainbow near Aynor, SC, and finally ended up in Myrtle Beach, SC tonight! Not your typical day!

Join Us for the 4th Annual Jogging for Jess !

When we set out to organize the Jogging for Jess 5K, we envisioned an event that would be both competitive and family-friendly, appealing to seasoned runners and beginners alike.

Our goal was to create a race that brings together competitors and walkers, all while fostering a festive and supportive atmosphere. We're proud to offer a beautiful 5K route through Tusculum, enhanced by the vibrant energy of spirit squads, dance teams, and drum lines from local universities, middle schools, and high schools. These enthusiastic groups will keep you motivated and energized throughout the course.

In addition to the race, we have a variety of local vendors providing everything you need for a fantastic day. There will be inflatables for the kids to enjoy and coffee to kickstart your morning. Capture your memories with our incredible event photographers and a complimentary Photo Booth.

One of the most exciting highlights of our race is the unique finish line—right next to the home plate of Pioneer Park. This exhilarating experience adds an extra layer of excitement and makes for a memorable conclusion to your run or walk.
